I'm about quarter of way thru Broken Sword 3, and am absolutely riveted by the voice acting. I wouldn't be surprised if they hadn't hired professional actors for this game, it's that good. If you thought that the (droning, boring, endless) dialogue in Longest Journey was good (and you can see that I did not; had to dump that turkey after about 2 hours), then give this one a try. The character interaction is actually enjoyable, sometimes funny, and pertinent; and it doesn't go on until you're ready for a NoDoz to continue.
I've been avoiding this game because of the keyboard controls. But it's really not too hard to learn and get used to (a little more involving than URU). The purported "action" sequences are really very easy, and (dare I say it), fun too. I finally broke down and got it, because my Best Buy didn't have any of the new stuff in yet, and this was only $15. Randy at JustAdventure had this as his #1 game last year, and like most people it seems, I didn't listen. We should have.
It is a breakneck bear to get to run, though. It has some kind of security key that you have to get around, and if you peruse the good folks in here in Bugs and Patches, I'm sure one of their suggestions will work for you (as it finally did for me). The fixes on their web site are (can you believe it), worthless.

Rolf Saxon (voice of George) IS a professional actor - check out his sheet: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0768350/ He's been in the movie version of Mission Impossible, the Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, Saving Private Ryan, Entrapment, and a whole lot more, as well as some decent TV appearences. I remember seeing him years ago in a TV program called Love Hurts with Adam Faith and Zoe Wanamaker.

I'm very happy to hear that SOME game developers are using PROFESSIONAL talent. Bald Bob, I don't want to burst your happy bubble... but are you aware that Broken Sword 3 will leave copy protection drivers installed on your computer, long after you finish and uninstall the game? This was a hot issue in the TAC forum, and I believe, one of the issues that led to that forum's downfall. TAC used to offer patches to fix those copy-protection software drivers -- and to REMOVE them when you're done with the game -- but has now chosen not to offer them anymore. And this concerns me greatly.

It's too bad my computer can't play BS3. BS3 must have done a fine job. I would love to play the game when I upgrade my computer. To be completely honest and critical, I'd have to say that "Freddi Fish and the Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds" did the best job. The game is not a classic but it had the best voice acting I've ever heard. And I have seen the ending of almost 300 games.

Didn't mean to imply they weren't all professionals Steve It's just I've heard of Rolf Saxon, and seen him in other stuff.

This "Copy Protection" MalWare really frosts me. Not only does it make the game long to load, but for many folks, the game doesn't run at all. Not just BS3 has this particular sicko, called Starforce. Found 2 sites everyone may want to peruse, especially if you have BS3: http://www.boycottstarforce.org/removal/ Originally posted by SeñorCalavera: [qb] Better than GF? [/qb] Not likely. But that's just me. ;)One blog I found stated that alomst every game that comes with this, or some other copy malware, has been decoded and broken by hackers within 2 weeks of coming on the market, with "free" copies available after that. So, these companies are making life miserable for us law-abiding gamers to save 2 weeks from the jerks. Urgent News: Apparently you should NOT try to manually remove the drivers from your computer yourself. Many have botched the process and had to reload their OS as a result.

Urgent News: Apparently you should NOT try to manually remove the drivers from your computer yourself. Many have botched the process and had to reload their OS as a result. "Starforce" (supposid copy protection) is also found on the TAC titles "Black Mirror" and "Traitors Gate II"... Also, "Starforce" drivers have been reported by users to damage USB external harddrives, causing data loss. There is a removal tool on the TAC website (in the support forums) which may or may not work in removing the "Starforce" drivers from your computer after you uninstall the game in question. Users have reported that the removal tool does not always remove these drivers.

The new Starforce copy protection does not cause the problems that the previous one did thankfully. However, I never had a problem with the previous one, but I'm sorry that some apparently did. We've discussed this over and over on this forum, which can be located by running a search. Let's keep on topic.
