Henry Cavill to lead the cast of Netflix's THE WITCHER saga


I think he'll do great in the series!

I hope it's good. Geralt's voice is so distinctive, though. I do like Henry Cavill, so will give it a go.

I had pictured someone a bit older and less pretty. I suppose he can be scruffed up for the role, though.

My guess is they wanted someone on the larger side for the role. Geralt is a pretty big dude and very athletic. Cavill is over 6 foot, just under 200 pounds and in peak shape, so I can see him making a pretty intimidating witcher if they get the look right. Michael Wincott would have made a great Geralt, from the general look and voice, but they'd have to work some movie magic because he's not that tall and has a pretty slim build. If you've never seen his role in The Crow, just search YouTube with his name and "the crow" and you'll see what I mean.

There was some buzz about Nikolaj Coster-Waldau a while back. He has the right face for Geralt and I thought he'd be a good fit, with his height and fantasy chops and all.

Not that I'm actually complaining about Henry Cavill being too pretty, mind you.
