Well I can't BRAAGS I thought I had a problem with buying more games when I haven't even played the ones I got till I found every one else does the same thing on gameboomers. So I feel better about that cause I'm just a beginner compared to some of you.

One technical problem with 9: The Last Resort that hasn't been discussed is that it doesn't recognise above 32MB RAM. So if you have more memory than this the installation process tells you you don't have enough memory

In the past you could send your original disk in to Infogrames/Atari and get a replacement but they don't seem to be offering that service any more.

One solution is to put this phrase....

"Installing 9: The Last Resort on a Newer System"

...into Google and see what pops. It should bring up an article which details which newer systems can run 9 and a link to a zipped installation of critical game files which enable anyone who has a system which can run 9 and who has a 9 CD to play the game.

That's the old version. Newer versions don't have the problem. Of course you can't tell from the box which version it's going to be.

Actually, you can. There were a total of four versions of 9 released. It's just easier to toss in the CD and see if it loads. If it doesn't, looking for the phrase mentioned above will solve the problem. For all systems except XP Pro. No joy there. Ever.

Ok folks,I went to the google and saw what you were talking about. But I don't have a clue about zip files. I have a xp and a me both.

I have a box which originally had the old version (I mailed in the original CD for the exchange) and I have a box that came unopened with an updated version of the game and both boxes look identical. So in my experience, you can't tell from the box.
