Oldbroad as I said before it's wonderful to be retired and even when you are in "do nothing mode" the days fly by! The best part is you do what you want, when you want, and if you want! So just enjoy life! wave

I was an environmental field inspector enforcing Clean Air and Clean Water regulations. Definitely not considered a popular person in the regulated community! Yet, for TWO YEARS after I retired, I got calls at my home from several of the facilities I used to inspect because they all hated my replacement! They would ask ME compliance questions about this or that regulation. I just never told my replacement or my Regional Director, but it did make me feel that I had done a good job while I was there for almost 20 years.

So, I TOTALLY understand your feeling a little bit cheerful about your company going through two employees and not really appreciating you while you were there!! I think I took a good 6 months of simply reveling in not having to go to work every day! So enjoy every minute. This winter will be a good time to start tackling a thing or two if you want.

Gardens put to bed for the winter. Time for some gaming!

Too funny Drac!

Just this week the female owner did mention my name twice to my co-worker friend stating that neither of my 2 replacement were even doing all of what I had been doing and, that in all the years I was there, I never made a mistake. (Yeah right. Cough cough. I know I did make mistakes. She just never saw them.) Apparently, this is the first time my name has come up at all, regarding the work anyway.

Ah, retirement! Enjoy it to the max, Oldbroad!

I worked as a speech & language therapist in the public schools for 33 years straight. With 96 students in my caseload, the required paperwork had become another full-time job, and the part I loved, the creative and fun stuff I did with the kids, was suffering. Since I could receive a pension and health insurance from the state at age 55, I grabbed it and ran, along with a small nest egg my district gave me for unused sick time. I've been retired for 15 years now, and I still love the feeling that every day is Saturday. Of course, I often forget what day it is, but that's a small price to pay for freedom and mental health.

By the way, after I left, they hired two therapists to take my place, and several of my teacher friends said the program just fell apart. I felt bad for the kids not getting the services, but it's no longer my problem.

Love it! I am also having trouble keeping up with what day it is.

Thanks!
