Hi all ! Are there any saved games available? Specifically - past the "Clock Hands" puzzle at Iztali Point ? I tried the walkthrough but I am not getting it and it is getting a bit tiresome. sleep

It is a beautiful games which I was looking forward to getting but I do hope the games puzzles are not all of the same type. crazy

I don't know if it is possible to make saved games, I played the game a couple of times and I never saw a possibilaty to load a saved game but maybe that is changed now.
Which walkthrough are you using?

I have made the walkthrough that is on the site of Louis: www.pcgameswalkthroughs.nl.
The walkthrough is in English and Dutch with lots of screenshots.
The clockpuzzle is not an easy puzzle, you have to do everything in the right order otherwise something is wrong and the solution doesn't work.
You have to press on domes in the right moment, change between night and day at the right time, sometimes you have to walk over the hands before you change between night and day.

Hi Lion_1251 - Thank you for replying. smile

That link is the walkthrough I consulted and I tried following it exactly but I cannot get to the RUNE island and it is getting very tedious and over-complicated. Then, I imagine, I will have to get out of Iztali from there. I much rather just get a saved game - if possible - and skip this part. hardwall

My saves are in the D:\Games\Xing\XINGv3682\XING\Saved directory on my PC and are in the format of Slot_A.sav, Slot_B.sav, and Slot_A_Backup.sav etc, etc. but since the game auto-saves, I figure the backup.sav file from someone will be at the point they stopped playing, so I may be stuck. duh

I had to walk away from the game for now - maybe I will give one one try soon.

Thank you again - it is, however, a beautiful game.

What I would suggest is to load a previous game and play to the clock platforms and follow Lion's walkthrough. I wish there was a way to completely reset the puzzle, but there isn't.

I looked and I can't find my saved games, but I believe you are correct in that the game auto saves will be from when the player stopped playing. There are three game slots and each one will be the same.

There is only 1 way, you only can get from B to the runesign at D but to set the hands you must on A.
First you have to set the hands between A and C, walk to A and click on the right dome, don't step on the day/night disk.
Walk to C and via the beam in the water go from C to B, step then on the day/night disk. Maybe you have to step on it twice in order to make it night again.
The hands will then be set between B and D, you can walk to D and grab the runesign.
walk back and you have to find your way to E, you have to arrive there in the nighttime.

I got through this part of the game using this walkthrough: https://gameplay.tips/guides/1195-xing-the-land-beyond.html

I would never have been able to do it by myself.

Later on I've used a combination of that walkthrough and Lion's walkthrough to get through other difficult parts.

Thank you all for the input and links to walkthroughs... unfortunately, I deleted the game as it got too repetitive with the same day/night mechanism throughout the game.

I never quit like this, but I just lost my taste to go on any further.

Please accept my apology and my thanks for your time and support. praise

The game is definitely not for everyone, sureshot!

Hi Draclvr !

It sure isn't !

The last good game I played was Quern - and I didn't need a walkthrough for that one ! Seems like they are getting fewer and far between and I am getting less patient with age ! or could be my diminished patience is the reason they seem so few and far between. shocked

Ah well - my quest for a good game continues. crazy

Xing is a beautiful game but quite hard to play - and it gets harder as you progress, using not only night/day changes but also rain, freezing and wind in various combinations. As far as I am aware the game only autosaves and if that goes wrong you are a bit stuck (it happened to me right near the end and I was unable to complete it). My other dislikes of the game are the jumping (my version did not have the jump assist feature), especially when you have to go right back to the beginning of a series of difficult jumps, and the other is the hot air lifts, introduced in the desert sequence. If you don't get in just the right position with these you either crash into the cliff or get thrown out - on occasion it took me a dozen tries to get to the top.

I did still enjoy some of the puzzles, which are quite mind bending, especially towards the end, and I found a very good video walkthrough at: https://gameplay.tips/guides/1195-xing-the-land-beyond.html

If you bought the game at Humble bundle you can redownload the game, the assist is then present in your game.
The jumpassist makes it also easier to go up or down with the hot air lifts.
If you play it with Steam the jumpassist is added with the updates.

I agree. That jumpassist certainly helped me a lot.
