The walkthrough says this:

Quote:
A tutorial is an option at start of a new game. Do the tutorial if you want.

Inventory is a suitcase at bottom left of the screen.

Right click to examine and get a description of an item or hotspot in the game.

Move the cursor to top left of the game screen to see the in-game menu. Display the main menu by clicking on the hammer and spanner icon, hints on the question mark icon and achievements on the gold cup icon.

Catalonia, Spain 1937: See a car drive to a hacienda where fascist soldiers forcibly enter the gate. The soldiers fire at the residence.

It sounds like the game begins in Spain. Are you possibly in the tutorial prior to that?

Have you played this game before?

This is what it's supposed to do
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cAhwylIKrw

If you played it before, was it on the same computer?
Maybe the game is playing from an auto-save?

I would think choosing "New Game" would do it.
Or you might have to play the game by right-clicking and choosing "Run as Administrator" to get the game to delete old autosaves and start a new game.

Where is the game starting you out?
Is it near the beginning or is it somewhere in the middle of the game?

Did you find the air vent? If not, I would suggest watching a playthrough on YouTube in order to see where it is.

Try looking through the walkthrough here. This contains the part of the game that you are describing.

When you are with Duane, there is a bottle of turpentine you can take from the shelf. If you look at the walkthrough that I linked to above, it will show you more if you need more help with it.

I don't think things have to be done in a specific order or else the walkthroughs would not be different. I think you should probably be able to continue on without a problem.

You've probably just missed some little thing. I would read over this part of the walkthrough carefully (the walkthrough that I linked to above) and see what you missed. Going back to right before you entered the cave is probably not necessary, but if you are following the walkthrough exactly, it might be helpful to you.

Hi guys
I’m playing this on my iPad and have reached London in Part 1. Gone to Hobbs and trying to get the horn to work.
I’ve read several walkthroughs and they all say the same thing ie pick up the wires in the junkyard and cut one of them and then attach to the appropriate points in the engine. The problem is I read this AFTER I’d already attached the wires. So I managed to cut one of them but it won’t let me attached it to any of the hot spots. I’m at my wits end. Don’t know how to go back to a saved game on an iPad and seriously don’t want to restart. Any suggestions gratefully accepted

I don't know what to tell you, as it sounds like the game will not allow you now to correct what you did with the wires.

There may be a way to use one of the saved games that you have, but not knowing anything about the way that works on an iPad, I can't advise you. I would suggest posting over in the Glitches forum about this if you want to see if there is any way that you can restore a saved game.
