I played The Scroll all through about two years ago - and survived !!

I found the inventory system and the very fuzzy graphics to be the most tormenting issues

Having said that, I didn't find it anyway near as frustrating as Sacred Mirror of Kofun - which I'd have given up on long before I did, if Syd hadn't been helping me every five minutes

Unfortunately, I no longer have The Scroll or I'd have passed it on to you johnboy298

Jenny: I got the impression from the description on the box that Survivor was an adventure/sim hybrid. That's why I mentioned it.

It made me look at the game.. and the cover was upside down to the reverse...

Fixed now of course.

Another name for The Scroll is Daughter of Serpents.

It's a DOS game and the manual says it needs 590 KB of conventional memory. I'm not sure if it will run in XP. So you may be off the hook, Tigger.

Syd is the recognized Boomer expert on The Scroll. She has some very strong opinions of the game--just ask her and cover your ears...

I thought that Syd was supposed to finish the Scroll as a dare.

I loved the review with the drop down menu for the word of your choice. We must think of this Jenny100 when we write another review. LOL

You guys do not know what bad is in PC games until you play a game called Deep Raider.

It was set out to be an aquatic Laura Croft and was made by Cyberscape Graphics. She was supposedly a telephat to dolphins and did heroic sea rescues. The trouble was tha she swam thorugh rocks and in cicles and never got anywhere, neither did the game and no one ever heard of it. I have a copy if anyone is interested. Ha ha

I was going to list Bureau 13 as worst game, until I realized you might have to have played it through for it to qualify....
Has anyone else tried this game? I tried it in around 1993, and it's stuck with me since then. (shudder).

I had a go at Bureau 13 some years ago.
Unlike The Scroll however I couldn't get through to the end of it......Just too buggy for words

I bought Deep Raider because of the box and it came with a hybrid gamepad-mouse. It was closed out for like 2.99 at EB. I figured if the game was bad I still have this neat gamepad-mouse hybrid that i am sure is worth more than 2.99.

I just loaded The Scroll on a poor unsuspecting computer. I finally figured out how to save. You have to have a certain item in your inventory before you can save. And you also have to exit your inventory and reenter before you can use the item to get to the save/load screen.

Anyone want to play this thing along with me or should I go it alone? or should I wait?

Wish I had a copy Jenny. I may have one in a week or so. Its not definite yet. Besides right now I need to finish Blackstone first.

I will Try to load it on XP.. but if that doesn't work I will have to wait til the 'spare box' is built.. This time I'm insisting on win98
