As Peter says you have to press B to go back to the main puzzle and then press the number of the box that hold the pieces you want to see. The number key is a toggle key. Press it once and you will see the pieces from the box press it again and they will be hidden.
The pieces will be on the screen in a random order and if you want to have them neatly stacked - for instance at the bottom of the screen or at the top then move your cursor to that position and then hit T and the loose pieces should all move to that area and line up neatly for you. I normally do the edges first and then when I have selected the first few pieces I want to work with when I bring them in I actually line them up in the centre of the screen - put the cursor there and then press T. I don't move them to the sides until the puzzle starts to be completed.
As Jenny has found out you move between the boxes with the arrow keys and the pieces will go into whichever box is active.

Oh, wow! I am doing my first moving puzzle and feel sort of seasick. woozy
I need some advice on how to do these things. Once the edges are done, what is then the best procedure? Is this a case of only going by the shape of each puzzle piece? Seems like lengthy hit-or-miss method.

Joanie, I've only worked the demo of the moving puzzles - aren't they diabolical? I had the best luck working from the outside edges in, trying to grab a piece that matched the coloring of the edge where I was working. It takes more patience than the regular jig saws, but it gets easier as you go on.

Try putting your favoite CD on while you're working - it almost put me into a trance!

I think with the moving jigsaws it really depends which one you are doing. Particularly in the first set they are all so different. The first thing though I found was it was best to slow the speed down smile Which one are you doing?
Beasong, I can't answer for Peter on the Mac question - I know he will answer but he is away from home at the moment.

I had to turn the speed down too, Joanie. Once I did that, I could really enjoy them.

I work them by the colors and then the shapes like SuMac but don't always work towards the inside. I just work them at random after doing the edges, according to what colors/changes I recognize first.

They're a lot of fun but I love the still ones the best. smile

Sorry BeaSong - not for the Mac - not now or in the forseeable future. A couple of Mac users have tried using Virtual PC but most report the result is too slow. If you have Virtual PC and want to give it a try, you could try the demo and see for yourself.

As to the Moving Jigsaws - I find them a very exciting concept but don't enjoy solving them myself - I find I get really tense trying to put pieces in place before they change. I prefer jigsaws for relaxation!

Uh oh! I'm REALLY in trouble because I don't even understand your answers.
I'm doing the coin one, slow as possible. All edges are done. What do you mean "match by the color"? When I start out, the background is maroonish brown and all the pieces are dark blue. The only other color are the coins and letters passing through. Do you mean if one of the edge pieces has a piece of gold, either coin or letter, passing through it I have to find and grab an inside piece that has gold passing through it and see if it fits? That can't be right. That seems impossible.
Why is this so contrary to the illogical logic in my brain? cry

Sorry, Joanie, some of the other jigsaws have a lot more colours, or the colours start at one part of the jigsaw and move outwards or across - or up and down. I actually found the coin one quite hard but I found the best thing as you said was to grab pieces that a bit of a coin or text on it. As the jogsaw builds up it does become easier smile

Thanx for your answer, Peter.
I have a PC too, just for the occasion
when something doesn't work on my Mac.
And I LOVE puzzles, so thanx again.

Peter, my subscription for your puzzles ran out in October. I have been unable to re-subscribe because my main computer that plays the puzzles crashed. I do want to re-subscribe. Can I do so now before I get my computer back? You can email me at the addess listed here for me. Thanks.

Hi Glenna,

You can resubscribe even if your subscription has expired - all I do is add a year to today's date and your subscription will pick up from where if left off. Of course, if you resubscribe BEFORE your sub expires, I add a year to your expiry date.

Hope this answers your question ... Peter
