When I downloaded the rose puzzle, Jen, a shortcut was automatically placed on my desktop. Did you get that shortcut--it takes me straight to the puzzle?

I'll send Peter a note--hopefully he will be able to get things working right for you... wave

I saved the uninstalled downloaded file to my desktop, but I'm not getting the puzzle. When I click on the icon, it just wants to install again. frown No play icon.

Hi Jen,

This is how it works:

1. When you install the demo, you end up with a PJ icon on your desktop.
2. When you install each week's jigsaw, it is added to PJ ... there is no new icon.
3. To get to the new jigsaw, start PJ and press the "N" (for "New") key.

Let me know if this helps.

Peter

Bets,

Have you tried Tallyho's walkthrough?

Also the folk at the Mulawa Dreaming private forum just love helping Magnetic players. In fact that was how the forum started in the first place ... it was part of the release of Magnetic.

Hmmm....well I've installed it several times now & I'm not getting a PJ icon anywhere, that's the problem. Shouldn't there be a 'mulawa dreaming' folder in my start menu under programs? It's in the C:\programs. All it contains is puzzle pieces. But as I said, I'm not getting the PJ icon on my desktop, or anywhere else for that matter. frown What am I doing wrong here? Can you please tell me the path I'm supposed to download/install to. I downloaded it to desktop instead of programs & I think that might be why. duh

Hi Jen,

It sounds to me like you haven't downloaded the demo yet. Here's the url:

http://mulawa.net/download/peters_jigsaws.exe

Dowload this and run to install - this is what gives you the PJ icon. You will not need to re-install the new puzzle again.

Hope this helps.

Peter

"9990roses1ebfd627tf" is the name of the file that I have on my desktop. When I double click it, it goes through some sort of installation. duh I'll try re-downloading it & see if that doesn't do the trick. Thanks, Peter!

Jen,

What you need on your desktop now is peters_jigsaws.exe from the url I just gave you. Double click IT and it will go through "some sort of installation" THEN you will have a PJ icon on your desktop ready to go.

Please keep at me till you've got it working ... Peter smile

Hi Jen, take a look in your C drive for "program_files/mulawa_dreaming/jigsaws.exe".

Should be there smile

Bets, I'd be happy to try and help you with Magnetic...just say so smile

It's actually

C:\Program Files\Mulawa Dreaming\Jigsaws\jigsaws.exe

but it will only be there after you do what I suggested in my last post.

Have done so Ana ... thanks for the heads up.

And this must be some sort of a record ... one person subscribed for the free trial and 55 minutes later ordered a full subscription!

And ... before you ask ... folk doing that still get the extra free month!

Best wishes ... Peter

Re-downloading it did the trick! I got the roses file, I just didn't have the Peters Jigsaws part. I guess that's sorta needed, eh? lol

Just a note to say that I got the puzzles working. Re-downloaded as "Administrator" and got two puzzles and the desktop icon. Even put a few pieces together to see how it works. Reminescent of the 830 piece 3D Puzz Bavarian Castle that I did a long time ago. Had forgotten how entertaining these puzzles can be.

Also reminded me of when I was a kid and we kept a puzzle in progress on the dining room table and we would each put in a piece (or a few) as we passed by during the day.....untill it was finished. That was a long time ago! smile

I didn't do it......and if I did I'm not guilty!

BillyBob,

That's great news - you had us all worried for a moment there.

And so glad that you found the puzzles reminscent of the old days cos that's exactly what I had in mind! Obviously I love jigsaws too and have a cupboard full of old favourites.

Peter

Yes, never lost my interest in jigsaw puzzles. Have one minor problem now. Cannot get pieces into any box other than BOX 1. What am I missing? laugh

Peter,

Are there any secret keys for turning off the sound. I quit a moving puzzle cause the noise was driving me mad (der)
