OK, I have to admit the free month's demo hooked me. It took a bit to get the hang of piece management, but its not that bad when you get the hang of things. For others trying this, I also found changing the background color to a light grey helps a lot.

I'd like to order a subscription, but refuse to use paypal. As I understand it, its a violation of my credit card agreement. Can other arrangements be made? I'm willing to mail a cashiers check to Austalia and patiently wait for it to clear.

Anyway, thanks Peter. I think you're on to something.

Albert

What do you mean, a violation of the credit card agreement? Is this something I need to know about?

There was a thread here at GameBoomers several years ago about paypal. A fellow Boomer ran into some overcharge problems. Normally, most credit cards limit your liability for fraudulent charges to $50, but this case was way over that. She got stuck eating the whole thing because of a clause in the credit card agreement about third party arbitration of disputed charges. Something like that. I don't remember the details, but I do remember our dear Gatorlaw's response that it was indeed a violation of the credit card agreement. Things may have changed since then, I don't know. But I tend to be a very cautious person and remember such things. I don't have a problem using my credit card over the internet because of the above mentioned liability limit. Online transactions are a two way street. I suspect vendors are more susceptible to fraud than consumers, so I understand the interest in such services. If someone knows better, please enlighten us.

I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers here.

Quite so joannieS - I'm thinking seriously about putting a one minute delay between each e-mail - trouble is the folk at the end of the list may get a little upset at the late arrival of their weekly fix smile

Actually, I meant the GameBoomers site. We are all so busy on Friday with our new puzzles we don't have time to post on GameBoomers.
I introduced Peter's World to my neighbor after I got hooked. She just subscribed yesterday and now we have a great connection and discussions over the proverbial backyard fence about the puzzles.
Hmmmm! Subscriptions would make good Christmas presents to enlarge my personal group of Mulawaites. think

Have a look on the Info Page (the link comes in your weekly e-mail) and check out the Gift Subscription - you can even have it delivered on Christmas Day!

Peter, I don't know about Jenny, but I would love a puzzle with a castle on the order of the one in your post. Beautiful.

Gardens put to bed for the winter. Time for some gaming!

Draclvr,

It's already done and I really enjoyed solving it but sadly it's No 304 so you'll have a little time to wait smile

Clare,

All I can tell you is that I have been using PayPal for years both buying and selling. In all of the hundreds of transactions I've never had a single problem or a single complaint from my Credit Card Company.

I think Albert's comment may arise from the time when PayPal used to make a little posting (1 cent from memory) to your account to check the validity of your info when you joined - some credit card companies didn't like that but I don't think PayPal do that anymore.

Anyway ... I repeat ... I have alternative arrangements for anyone who doesn't want to use PayPal - just e-mail me.

Peter

Thanks Peter - I got your welcome email so something must have happened right. I must admit I find the whole process somewhat mysterious and magical (the paying, not the jigsaws - though they are magical too!) smile
