I posted this accidently on the rpg forum and Laura and Zanthia told me to leave it there and repost the same thread here.
When shopping for pc games if I come across a copy of a game for lets say $1.99 to $4.99 I will buy it even if I already have a copy, and especially if it was originally a 40-50 dollar game. Does anyone else practice this BAAG behavior? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" /> rolleyes

Not sure if this counts. I have owned the original Dark Fall since Jonathan released it. However, I recently took advantage of the free shipping promo at TAC and bought, you guessed it, Dark Fall. I just wanted it for the new box, I guess. laugh

Also guilty here with two Darkfalls. It's the only game of which I own two.

I wonder if this is a trend, Rusty, and we will soon be seated with johnboy on level fifteen BAAGs.

Becky, I am probably way off the chart. Syd needs a new catagory just for me. frown

ROFL, Jen!

I do that, too, with the intention of being able to trade one for something else that I want but can't get.

In a couple of instances, I did it just to be able to save my 'original'! Timelapse fits that description. I treasure my GTE copy!

Harvest has 2 different ones and so do all of the Dreamcatcher games..... Syberia, Post Mortem, Cydonia... aka 'Lightbringer'.

I don't buy 2 of each the first time around, though, so I'm not sure that counts.

I've had as many as 4 copies at one time!

I'm not sure which level of BAAGS that is, but it works for me! <VBG>

I purchased Dark Fall originally from Jonathan for myself, love it and it is my KEEPER. But have been asked to do a presentation about what these adventure games are at our October Computer Club meeting (a short demo) so I purchased a new copy in the box as a raffle prize from Gamestop recently. It will be one of several prizes offered by the club to our members to help us celebrate our club's anniversary.
I too have purchased more than one used copy of a game several times accidently - sometimes it is confusing when a game has more than one title for the same thing.
Do I buy two copies of the game deliberately to keep for myself, usually not.
Love, Betty Lou

The other day I found Amber: Journeys Beyond in a JC for $1 and picked it up in case I ran into someone who wanted it, and I have the boxed version. Also bought Phantasmagoria 2 recently, forgetting that I had played this years ago and didn't care for it. But gosh, you can't pass up a good (or possibly good) adventure game, sitting on the shelf just looking up at you saying "take me home, take me home".

I have done it a few times. I have 2 Dark Falls, one from Jonathan and the other one with the beautiful box and I bought it because I wanted the box. I also bought a few copies that I already have but want to keep them, and trade the second for something else I would like to have. I also have 2 runaways, I bought pre-order in case someone else wanted in a trade for something I really want. And I already trade one of them for and old game I want to have because one of the CD is missing and this game is very hard to get. And I also have 2 copies of Timelapse, but one of the boxes is pretty beat up, not the CD it is in perfect condition, but most have one at least in perfect condition box. It's my all time favorite game of all times. Can't get enough of those beautiful graphics this game has. It is definitely a keeper. The other I would trade the cd is excellent condition, just the box looks a little beat up. I also have Sacred Amulet both still sealed in the box. Two copies of Lightbringer-cydona. Two copies of Myst one sealed and a few more. Two copies of Syberia.

I have duplicate copies of several of my games...namely the two DARKFALLS, the DVD & CD version of LEGACY OF TIME and DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, RIVEN & REAH. Also LIGHTHOUSE & Version 2.0 of the same game. I also have two versions of GK1 & II..the original and the Limited Edition version. smile

I have no idea why I keep the originals when I obtain the DVD version...I guess they just look nice on the shelf. lol

I have Dark Fall both from Jonathan Boakes and from Dreamcatcher. It seems a lot of people bought both versions. I also bought both versions of RHEM.

I bought 3 extra copies of Tony Tough and 2 of Jazz snd Faust, not to keep, but to someday use in a trade. They were on sale for $4.99 each. I thought Tony Tough might be of interest to European gamers since I don't think it's been released there. But so far only one person in the UK wanted one and I have two extra unopened Tony Tough's listed at GameTZ. I think I also have one of the Jazz and Fausts left too.
