This aught to be fun. OK, We all have to have some picture in our head of what everyone looks like. For instance do yall really picture me as a green dragon sitting on a champagne glass getting drunk? If not yall should. And then theres friedmonkey, I am so sure that he is a banana greedy orangutang that has been taught to use a computer, I mean dont you? What about ladyyve? I am almost positive its Liz Taylor chating with us. And gatorlaw, she must be an alligator lurking in those waters waiting to dine on one of those poor people on the beach. And then theres Barcardi Jim. Dont you picture him with that mug in his hands staying bombed continuosly? And housewife... I know its really Blondie straight out of the Sunday comics. Agree? And Becky, I picture her in the bathroom dialing from the throne. And what about lonewolf, A smart baby huh? I mean the kids going to be a genius. And what about jenny100? I think she will go postal on us real soon. Do you? Well anyway you get my drift. See if you can come up with some impressions you have had just by our avatars.
I Baag, Therefore I Am. Update: I Don't Baag Anymore, Therefore I Ain't! Update: I'm baaging again but just a little. JohnBoy ----------------

Thanks for the compliment JohnBoy - that's actually my real present-day picture. I am afflicted by a rare disease called.... Ah, forget it, I can't think of a funny ending to that. I rarely notice avatars for some reason, I don't know why. The one I always noticed though was GirlGeek, because its a picture of a circuit board. Something I can identify with given my profession (software developer - sorry, no games!)

I don't look like a mailbox either. Well thank goodness I was thinking you picked it because you liked classic adventure games. I tend to think of avatars as symbolic unless they are an actual picture. LoneWolf - you are just growing up so. sniff - pretty soon we'll have to get you your first bookbag for school.

heh-heh...that is pretty much what my hands look like. I get a little upset when someone changes an avatar they have been using for awhile...I guess I really identify most of you with your avatar. Now I'm going to have to get used to a new LoneWolf. Cynch

Hawk, Pandora made me special one but I don't know if she's still in the business of doing that. I think your plant is pretty and rare (around here). My avatar is of a Burpee Seed catalog cover because I enjoy gardening. No, I'm not propped up on a couch with a can of beer, burping at a sports game I just lost 30#s and hubby thinks he's gotten back the girl he married Have brown hair, shoulder length, wear glasses and I sometimes babble, so I TRY to be a better listener

People pick an avatar that they identify with--though sometimes its what they're like on the inside rather than the outside. I don't glow, but have never outgrown my love of myths and magic, which is how I came to be an adventure gamer.

Well, I had some friends call me their Fairygodmother when I came to their aid in a tight spot, and the nickname stuck, so I took that as my screen name (without the O's), because at the time I could only have 12 letters. I do kinda look like that though. I'm a chubby old lady, with long grey hair that I often do up in a bun or knot.

Anyone who has a copy of Dr. Seuss' "Hop on Pop" can see what I'm biting... HIM JIM Jim is after him. I'd say, Fongo, that your avatar means that you are fierce when defending the weak against aggressors. Also, your name obviously is Jim. Jenny100 -- There's clearly magic inside that mailbox. Is there magic inside of you? Johnboy -- after giving the matter much thought, I have decided that your avatar shows that you are territorial and have your wits about you in all circumstances. You are the triumphant dragon who has just defended his champagne glass from a threat posed by the recumbent, wounded (drunk?) dragon.

Hi All, Well, I am obviously a great big cuddly, rather grey and bad tempered pussycat I do tend to identify people with their avatars and get a bit confused if they change them. Emily, I identify you so much with your avatar that I can't play the sim that looks like you in my 'the sims' game because it feels like playing with a real person. Not very nice And Rusty, I just don't believe you're not a monkey asazen

Well technically Rusty - as an Orangutan - Aren't you are an ape? Asazen - I experimented - drop the space and make it one word and no auto fix As for avatar - well I can't get the one I want to work, so I just picked the one in stock that most appealed to me. I liked the moon and the mystical look of it. On the other hand it could be because I am a lunatic bwah-ha-ha-ha

It was a fossil of an extinct type of lizard. I sent you a fossil of an angiosperm as well, Hawk. More up your alley?

Wah I think you are being mean to me, all I got was the fossilized lizard and I don't know what that angio thing is, did not get that and have no idea what it is. Actually what I would really like is this little pic of me, b & w, taken when I was about 2 and a half, but it is still too big and I do not have the expertise to make it the correct size for an avatar. I have tried to crop, but still more than 60 x 60 pixels. So?
What kind of magic spell to use?

Calls for the right image editing software, Hawk. You didn't get the fossilized fern yet? And I guess I misunderstood. I thought you were saying you wanted an avatar that was a fossil. Else I wouldn't have spent 2 hours today trying to make one for you. Since your e-mail, I understand that you were joking. C'est la vie.

Yes I finally got the other fossil, just to please you I will download it in a day or so to my Msn page and will use it for awhile. Hey you don't have to waste your time on me you know, I was being rather fictitious, is this a word? Just a night where I was feeling my age, so thought I should be a fossil. Really I am rather young at heart, but did not age that well, wrinkles run in the family, hehe!

Hawk - your avatar file doesn't have to be 60 x 60 pixels. Just put the picture file up on the web somewhere, and then go into your profile at GB and point to it. The file will be resized for you to fit into the 60 x 60 allotted space. I would think though, that you would want the picture to be square (or close to square - I just eyeball it myself) so that the resizing doesn't make it all disproportionate.

Well Johnboy, I do like cookies. In fact, as a funny aside, my boy just started imitating Cookie Monster scarfing down cookies, all the time when he's at the dinner table. Johnboy you should start another thread asking people about their usernames' significance (unless thats been done already)

Johnboy you should start another thread asking people about their usernames' significance Good idea. You know I did mention something about my name and a school I went to. Sigh - I suppose the truth must be told. I was out partying and fell into a swamp. While there - trying to get out - I got to know a truly oppressed group. Gators - After hanging out with them for a time - I decided to specialize in a little known area of law known as reptiles for reptiles. Hence - I am the one sole lawyer specializing in "gatorlaw". You have no idea what these guys have been put through til we started up the class action suits and federal uncivil rights cases.

Thanks, LoneWolf...I'm looking forward to watching you grow! As for me, I'm still wondering what it is I want to be when I grow up! My username is the nickname my folks gave me some 68 years ago...mainly cuz my siblings couldn't pronounce Cynthia. Cynch

Hi, guys! I love ALL of your avatars, and I DO associate each of them with you and your personalities.
MY avatar, however memorable, is nothing like me. Well...my favorite color IS green! BUT...I am totally NOT a geek in the technical sense of the word. I just chose this because all of my friends are so much LESS geeky than me, that THEY all CALL me "girlgeek." I think it stems from the fact that I play alot of computer games and know how to manuever around in Windows (big deal, right?)! To some of my friends...this seems extremely geeky. LOL
PLAYING ON PC: World of Warcraft...nothing else...there is no need for ANY other game when you have THIS one to play!! LOL

Thanks for letting my know that LoneWolf32. I put it on but it doesn't look too good, it is an old picture. I think I will stick to the red ginger, at least it is symbolic of where I live.

Hawka - you might want to try cropping the photo, that way it will appear a little bigger as an avatar. Like my avatar, the original photo has my son's whole body in it as well as part of the room, I just cropped the face out. PS I like the old photo, I bet it has a story behind it. That would be a great unique avatar.

My avatar is simple and looks nothing like me Full moon over Diamond Head crater. I lived on Oahu for 20 years and wish I were back there.

As soon as I saw my avatar in the available pics, it reminded me of a series of books I read when I was young. Some of you older members may remember them - the "Patty" books by Carolyn Wells. They were set back in the early part of the century and some of the clothes described were just like this - leg of mutton sleeves, high hair, hats, etc.

I asked about fossils, since I am getting to be a fossil. Not really, but I was having an abused Grandma day. Now I see that I am younger than lots of folks here. But these are really nice sites to look at, thanks for posting them. I may not use one for an avatar, but nice to have them saved. Judy
