Sounds like a good idea. We've got some save game sections already at www.thediscworld.co.uk erm, just click on hints I think, then choose your game, but if anyone has any others, then just email them over to me and I'll get them up on the site.

I think this is a good idea, especially for certain games. Examples would be. - Schizm post railway puzzle - the Ward end timed puzzle - the Watchmaker end timed puzzle - post music puzzle in Myst
I have a file I use for saved games. Some are just the one hurdle, others are all my saves. I have the above saves (except the Myst one ) and all my saves for Amber, Ward, Obsidian, Timelapse, and Syberia.
Banking saved games not only helps with the frustrating puzzles, but also when a game crashes. Recently I sent my Black Dahlia save to a boomer who had to install the game on another computer.

I have saved games as well. I know all the hints mods keep a huge bank of saved games for folks. Might break our server space and bandwidth to have a saved game data base along with all the reviews and WT's. At least that's what I suspect Laura

I have 60 games listed although I know I do not have saves for all of them. A few are just folders prepared for games yet to be played. Some are for games before I knew I could save the saves. Some are saves for a portion of the game and some are extensive saves for some games.....such as Syberia, Myst III, and others. Sooooo, I will have to go through all these 60 folders and make a determination of what I have that is of any real use to others and do whatever is decided to be done with the info......send to VillaThriller or wherever. There is another thing to consider regarding saves. Often, due to the way a save is listed one cannot tell exactly where in the game that save relates. In a case such as this it is often helpful for the person needing help to send their last save to someone and have them play through the problem area for them. Sooooo, this would mean also having a list of those who have retained installed games (and which ones) on their computer and are willing to do this.

Now you see, you'd think that I'd have noticed that comma the amount of times I've typed my own URL. Ah well, obviously not. Anyway, it's no problem for me to get it up on the site, as it's obviously something which a lot of people are going to use, so it's good for the site, and good for the people who need the saves. Win win situation really.
Stupid comma.tsk.

Another thought......Games that are not linear can cause some pretty good problems to those using someone else's save to get through a particular puzzle (or glitch). For example, MYST III; you could play each area in a different sequence and the puzzles in each area in a different sequence, too. Why does the word "save" not sound so complex when you ask for one.
