This might sound stupid, not it IS stupid.
I just HATE spiders, and when they occur in a game, I quite.

So, my little question is, please tell me some games with those creatures in, so I now what to avoid.
It doesn't need to be a adventure game, just games.

Caroline.

Nah it's not stupid, I feel the same way about cockroaches. And yes I have Bad Mojo and yes I have heard many times it's a great game - but every time I take it out to install - I sit for a bit - think about being a cockroach and shudder. Then back on the shelf it goes. It probably has spiders in it too. lol

Well don't play Atlantis 2 or better yet - play it - get a saved game past the spider puzzle and skip that part. The rest of the game is too good to miss. Indie and the Infernal Machine would send you up on the ceiling. There are mucho spiders that drop down on you- jump out of dark places and you have to kill them. I use a god mode cheat in the game so they can't do any real harm - but I would advise agianst the game for your playing purposes.

There are also spiders that travel in packs of three in places in Outcast. I don't recall any other spiders in pure adventure games other than Atlantis 2/Beyond Atlantis. Oh wait in Goosebumps: A night in Horrorland there are spiders too.

Laura

I bet Aracnaphobia is NOT one of your favorite movies! eek

The 1st one that comes to mind is Atlantis II (also known as Beyond Atlantis). There is an involved puzzle on a giant spider web, and lots of very large spiders to avoid!.

There is a breif shot of a spider in "Full Moon in San Francisco", but it is just a rubber spider hanging from a string, and you don't need to interact with it in any way. (but it does kind of jump out at you when you 1st discover it).

Can't think of any others off hand.

Louis

Hehe, there is a spider in Bad Mojo, right near the beginning of the game. smile Not a very big one though, although everything is big to a roach!

Hexen 2 had large spiders that chew on your feet when you're not looking.

Shivers had a cute little mechanical spider in one of the displays. It was part of a music box.

Beyond Atlantis (aka Atlantis 2) has already been mentioned.

I think one of the tricksters in Pandora's Box was Anansi the spider. You hardly ever see the tricksters except as icons in that game though. I don't even remember whether Anansi was even depicted as a spider or was anthropomorphized.

I've probably seen a few spiders in some horror themed games, like 7th Guest. But they don't bother me so I wouldn't remember them.

You call that a spider!!!!!
How about the SPIDER Realm in OBSIDIAN?
Ok, so maybe giant mechanical spiders don't count. It was one, not to miss, for sure.
Now, on to snakes?

I'm with ya, Carolin!!! I have already moved my copy of Atlantis II to the BOTTOM of my "to be played" pile....

I guess if they are little bitty spiders that would go away quickly, I wouldn't mind..... But those that crawl like tarantulas or something, forget it!! <img border="0" alt="pacify" title="" src="graemlins/pacify.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="cry" title="" src="graemlins/cry.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="pacify" title="" src="graemlins/pacify.gif" />

actually, for me having spiders in games is ok - unless they're too "life-like" - the ones in Atlantis 2 wasn't very realistic (an artistic impression maybe??) so I wasn't as afraid of it even though I too have arachnophobia...

Hi.

And doesn't Broken Sword II have a spidery start ??

And KQ6 and 7 both have brief spider bits.

[I just bet there's LOADS of games with 'em in eek ]

Cheers.

Shivers 2 has a pretty creepy little spider puzzle that you play in a basement of a house. They look slightly real, too.

Thanks for the warnings, strangely enough, the spiders in Indy and the infernal machine didn't bother me to much.
Atlantis 2 is on my shelf, dropping down, far down into the pile. Maybe one day...

Carolin,

If the spiders in Indie didn't bother you - I doubt the spiders in Atlantis 2 will. They are aztekian looking - very abstract with what looks like faces.

The spiders in Indie freak me out - even with god mode. Just that way they have of dropping right on top of you in tunnels and such. I always walk with my revolver out in those places and shoot any time I get the hint of a movement. laugh

And don't forget:Gold and Glory, brrrrrrrr.
Concerning the cockroaches; our friend made a trip to Bali( Indonesia). He found 30 cockroaches in his bedroom in a good hotel. They didn't have a normal sice. They were 15 centimeters. The manager of the hotel was very astonished that he and his girl-friend were afraid for these creatures. He said: that is normal, they are in every bedroom.
So If you want to go to Bali, think about it.
