Frantic? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="tongue.gif" />

I didn't play much of it when I did play it. I recall the first guy you came across on the street and the asian guy in the store on the right. I could have sworn they were real people. The game didn't appeal to me, so I uninstalled it.

Anyone else play this one recently?

The person in this screenshot doesn't look rendered to me. Rendered hair (among other things) wouldn't look like that.

From an online review ...

"The biggest problem I had with the graphics was repetitive talking heads. When a character is clicked on, the view moves in, and the player is treated to the head of a live actor and conversation strings to choose from."

And don't forget one of the very, very best, Gabriel Knight: The Best Within!! Also, the new game, The Omega Stone, has some FMV in it, as well.
Hugs,

Hold on a sec, I'm now not sure if The Beast Within counts, as it is 3rd person. Does that make a difference? I think Phantasmagoria was the same way.

beth -- the beast within definitely counts! i don't think the perspective matters, as long as live actors were filmed for the game.

BUT, this always brings up a question for me -- in animated games, movie sequences are often referred to as FMV sequences. the final fantasy games, for example. how does one differentiate between animated FMV sequences, and live action FMV?

To me, this would be referred to as a "cut-scene". smile
