This is a post from a couple of days ago that never got a reply...

I pre-ordered four copies of Runaway - for myself and pals in the USA - months ago.... with GMXMedia ....but since the release date started to get put back all those times, I've never been able to get a reply from them to say my orders are still valid

Has anyone else got pre-orders there ??
Or has anyone else even heard from them lately ??

I did the same thing! Ordered back in February from GMX....................... got an acknowledgement right away, but not a word since!

I just ordered it from EB yesterday because there was a $3 discount. It's scheduled to be shipped on 7-7-03. The way things go, who knows!??? If I don't hear back from GMX by the end of June, I'll just cancel the order with them.

I just went to EBGames to check out Runaway. Where do you people see free shipping and $3 discounts? I have read about both but, for the life of me, can't see a thing about them anywhere. I even made up a dummy order to see if was an automatic thing and, nothing.

I live in the USA and did a preorder through GMX for Runaway. When I read the news that GMX was no longer involved in distributing the game to US I sent them an email making sure my order was cancelled and my CC wouldn't be charged. Never heard anything back. Sent them a second email. Nothing back. Kinda pissed me off. Finally, within the last week I received a template letter from them stating that all US orders are cancelled, blah blah blah.

Granted, this doesn't answer the question for anyone on the other side of the pond, but I for one was disappointed in their customer service.

As far as the release and distribution of Runaway this has to absolutely be the most elusive adventure game in the history of the business! The latest I know on the subject to date is the GMX will NOT be distributing the game in the USA. That contract went to TriSynergy.

Witchen is right on the money. GMX isn't commiting to any date right now. Some retailers in Britain have mailed their customers that the new date is May 30th. We'll see.

Tri-synergy is equally cagey - but the date being stated around at EB and interviews is the July 7th date mentioned already. Sorry - posted this at the games of summer thread and forgot to mention it here.

Well I haven't had a reply to MY latest email and I sent it more than two DAYS ago - this time using their "on site contact us" facility.

When GMX opened their "pre-ordering" section for Runaway, back at the beginning of the year, I ordered 4 copies - 3 of which GMX agreed to mail directly to three separate addresses in America - and the 4th to be mailed to me here in the UK.
[All to be paid for by me.]

Since February I haven't been able to get confirmation for any of this - which is rather worrying and which I consider to be very poor customer services

I used the email address that was in the email confirmation I got when I ordered it. Is that what you used?

I made my original order to GMX on Jan 18th and got the "auto style" confirmation email from "steven@gmxmedia.net"

In Feb. I increased the order but didn't get any confirmation.
So I contacted them at "steven@gmxmedia.net" and in reply got a "personal" confirmation email from Steven Harding......"www.gmxmedia.net".

Shortly afterwards I made another (and final) increase to my order.
Again I didn't get any confirmation, so again I contacted them - but I emailed directly to "Steven Harding......"www.gmxmedia.net".
I never received a reply and have never received any replies to the odd emails I've sent since

Weird. I don't know what to make of it.
I'd try emailing him at the "Steven" email address again before cancelling the order, but it's your call.

My order was also from Jan. 18. (Coincidence?) At the time, I thought the game was going to be out in a couple of weeks. The delay is very strange, though it isn't the first game that's been delayed a long time. Omega Stone was also delayed for quite a while.

I pre-ordered this game in February through GMX Media. And I just recently cancelled the order since I am in the US and the price at EBGames was much less than the conversion of the UK. Twice I contacted GMX by replying to the e-mail that was originally sent to me and I did receive a reply each time from Steven. Maybe you could try that. Shelly
