Hi,

Found this game on sale at Target. It is 3 games for girls. 2 are horse care and competition and the 3rd is an Adventure game. The diamond Mystery in Rosemond Valley.

I played a bit of it and you have inventory, talk to people, walk about the town. You have a map to take you to different areas. It is keyboard navigation. I saw that Slydos did a review and said it was a bit syberia like. Gave it a 74 rating out of 100.

I am liking it so far. Just wondered if anyone else out there has played this or heard of it.

Thanks,
Cindi wave

I've seen it mentioned a couple of times in the adventure newsgroup
comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.adventure.

I've never seen it in a store though.

I played The Diamond Mystery in Rosemond Valley. The concept is great, pure adventure in a 3D environment, but I'm sorry to say that this must be the buggiest game in world history. Really. People I hadn't seen before acted like I had already spoken to them, items popped up in my inventory all by themselves, and I was constantly able to ask questions about things I had yet to discover.

I didn't finish it though. After playing half of it I uninstalled it, afraid that my computer would explode.

But let's hope you have better luck with it. The game was really nice, it was kind of like the Nancy Drew games.

This game was mentioned on this board a few months ago, and they gave a very good description of the game. After which, of course I ran out and bought it - found it at Gamestop, I believe, and also saw one at Office Depot. Haven't played it yet, but a friend of mine tried to, and said she also had a problem with getting it to run.

I had read Slydos's review of this game a while back after she posted about it here. I liked the sound of it, and put it on my "to buy someday" list. It just so happened that I found it at my local Target this morning (before I checked out this thread!) and picked it up for $19.99 in the smaller sized box. Gee, I hope it's not going to be buggy for me! There are also 2 other games in the same box that are about horses. (not adventure games)

For those who are interested, here's a link to Slydos's review from a couple of months back.

This did look good. I checked it out after reading the same review by Slydos. Just was waiting for it to arrive at my local store. Two of them have it on order.

Thanks for the thoguhts on this game Cindiedda, Some earlier discussion about this game - but I am not sure if anyone else here had gotten it in yet. Looks like another fun kids game for me to BAAG smile

Catsmom2,

I remembered your review. I went back and checked - sure enough there it was at the Boomer reviews forum. Syd and I both posted, just must have thought the other was adding it to the list.. I feel so badly. Wrote the grand master list maker herself, MacG and asked sweetly if she could forgive the oversight and add your review to the formal member review list. Sorry about that Catsmom2 frown

Here is the link at the Review Forum The Diamond Mystery Review

Well MaGs posted it with pretty screen shots and such already. Supermod is what she is. smile

Here it be Catsmom2! Diamond Mystery at Rosemond Valley

Hi,

Well, I have to say that this game has me wanting to go back for more. laugh The more the story unfolds, the more I want to see what happens.

I also saw this game at Comp USA back in the Fall. I was going to get it, but wasn't sure what it was like. I had it on my mental list of games to BAAG. wink

There are a few little buggy parts, nothing bad. It's a little like TLJ and Nancy Drew. I wish there was a "run" button. It takes a little getting used to, but there are only a few keys that you use.

Here I go back to finish ! (I hope !) lol !

Thanks gatorlaw smile I just figured it wasnt a great review and just didnt make it to the main list. I played the game and enjoyed it..My game had no bugs,,Its a great game to play when there are no new releases in sight, and also it would make the developer happy and they might make more games. Also my CompUSA completly sold out of the game, so it must be popular in my little neck of the woods.. smile Thanks MaGs you are the greatest thumbsup

Ok, Last words here,

I finished the game ! laugh

Although there were a few minor bugs, this was a very enjoyable game. smile My kids were begging me to play more and more. I found myself thinking about what to do next and wanting to play more. thumbsup

The price is right and I found it in the kids section at Target and have seen it at Best Buy and Comp USA in the children's section also. The box has a girl riding a horse and is titled "Let's Ride, The Rosemond Hill Collection"
In it is 3 games, This Adventure game is "The Diamond Mystery in Rosemond Valley".

Thumbs up to all you BAAGer's out there ! thumbsup
