Help! Just got broken Sword, Sleeping Dragon, about an hour ago. It installs fine but it want launch, just sort of hangs and does nothing. I've tried Gelerts advice about resolution, it doesn't work refresh rate is set to 60 whats its , doesn't work!

Pentium 4 2.80, Nividia FX 5600 128mg card, gigabyte of memory, WinXP.

Any ideas? thanks, through my tears, asazen <img border="0" alt="cry" title="" src="graemlins/cry.gif" />

Hi asazen, Have you tried using the dvd drive? I had that problem and emailed revolution. They sugested trying the dvd drive and it worked. I am happily playing BS3 with no other problems.

I haven't bought BS3 yet, but if it's like other games made by Revolution, it may not want to play from anything other than your lowest letter CD drive. "In Cold Blood" and "Gold and Glory" both insisted on playing from my lowest letter drive.

If you don't want to play it in your CDRW or something, you can switch your drive letters in Device Manager in Win 98 (and I assume in Win XP too). I did this for "In Cold Blood" because my CDRW letter was E: and my DVD was F:. I swapped the letters so I could play using my DVD drive (which is quieter).

thankyou both for your suggestions. I should have said that I only have one drive and that is a DVD/ rom which is my D: drive. I've just been over to a friend and installed it on his machine and it works fine! His is a Pentium 4 with an older video crd and less memory than mine so I still dont know what the problem is!

Try contacting Revolution.
If this is a copy protection problem, they should at least be made aware of the problems it's causing.

Hi Jenny,

I should have posted here but i started a new thread.( 'an answer to getting BS 3 to launch") I solved the problem by un installing the latest drivers for my video card , 5.16, and reinstalling the old ones, 45.23. Works fine now.
I had contacted tech. support here in Australia when i first had the problem but they had no solutions. i did let them know what had worked for me! thanks again for your help,

a very happy asazen laugh

Thanks for letting us know.
It isn't the first game that's worked better with older drivers. Tech support always says to use the latest drivers. But if the latest are too recent, they aren't the drivers the game was tested with.

Sorry that some of you are having problems.

As a first instance you should contact the publisher's help line. There should be details in the game box/case.

Hi Steve,

i am loving the game!! i love the way nico's appartment still looks the same, but different
laugh

i certainly contacted the support lines(tech support for thq in Australia as a first resort)

and they were very polite and very willing to pursue my problem but they didn't have an answer and I suspect no one else would either, heh the game has only been available here for a couple of days!!
Its a great game laugh but its got a few bugs! don't they all? I think the bottom line on this one is ITS A GREAT GAME!!!!!

I am having the same problem with BS3. It just won't launch at all. I have tried adjusting everything and it still won't work. If you or anybody else has found a fix for this PLEASE let me know. Otherwise I will send it back to the store.

Pam

Have you tried Asazen's solution of installing older drivers? Or maybe newer ones would be better, depending on the video card.
