HELP! I have just installed and reinstalled several times - this game and have 'fiddled' with the settings for the hardward acceleration and nothing seems to cure my problem = which is that the sound both music and voice cuts in and out, in and out and is driving me CRAZY!! This is a brand new game, my computer is perfectly capable of running it (I use WIN 98) and still I am having a problem - can anyone help me? Did they release this game too soon without solving all the 'quirks'? Please help me.
Love, Betty Lou

Dreamcatcher mentions this problem and suggests checking your preferred device for audio playback. Instructions are here
http://www.adventurecompanygames.com/tac/support/thorgal.html

You might also try reducing audio acceleration. Mr. Bill has instructions under #7B here
http://www.mrbillsadventureland.com/howto/trshguide/trshguide.htm

Be sure to reboot after changes.

If you've already done this, I'm not sure what else to suggest. A CPU slowdown program might help. But it's a buggy game.

That seemed to work, changing the Audio option and moving the hardware acceleration slider - but now I have a different problem, with the graphics, I (Thorgal) disappear much too often right into the graphic background so I cannot see where I am standing and some of the other graphic items seem to come and go - I am supposed to cut the rope on the bell but it has disappeared - tried to reset Video stuff according to the tech help sheets but then get 'illegal operation' error message and game won't run at all - anyone else have a problem with this and how did you solve it? (I thought I saw mention of this somewhere here on GB but cannot find that reference now).....thanks

Hi Betty

Yep I had the exact same problem and solved it by manually adjusting the antiailaising on my video card from Application Controlled to 4xS. Now that is the setting on my video card - I don't know what your card is so you may have to play around with the settings to find one that works.

Thanks for the tip Syd. I tried fiddling with hardware accel. (for video) and had to change it back as game stopped working at all - and it seems to be working sorta-most of the time- now where the 'now you see me now you don't' is more stable so I will continue with it as it is - hope it is not more severe 'down the road' - thanks again

Anti-aliasing is not the same as video acceleration.
What video card do you have? Have you found any anti-aliasing settings for it?
