I'm confused! Why can't I buy Scratch's The Directors Cut and Destination Treasure Island here in the UK? Also why do some games come on 1 DVD in Europe and 3 CD's in the USA? I'm thinking of asking a friend in Canada to buy these games and send them to me but would this cause any problems?

Has any one seen any little gray cells around as I think I've lost some? Reward for finder.

I haven't had any problems playing US games and i am in Europe, the reason why some games do not come out in some areas of the world is due to lack of a publisher, the new Sherlock Holmes hadn't come out in the States until CDV decided to step in and will now publish it. That's why many games have different publishers and box covers, depending on the publisher and where it is published. European games for several years now come in the DVD box rather than the American version which comes into a box which is about twice as big. I don't know the reason for that but all the games i have which i bought from the UK have that packaging whereas all the games i bought from the States have the bigger packaging which i prefer and thus i started buying from the States.

Try Interact, postage is reasonable & the games arrive within a week. Sometimes Play.com will bring out adventures too....

Play.com has plenty of adventure games at the moment.

The only 'gotcha' I've encountered is that occasionally the US and European versions will have different patches, so you have to be aware of what version you have. For example, Heroes of Might & Magic V fell into this category.

Also, if you're buying PS2 games or PC DVD, there might region restrictions on the disks. With PS2, there's also the PAL vs. NTSC conversion to check. Most games are just fine, it's just the rare exceptions that can upturn the apple-cart.
