I'd also recommend Secrets of Da Vinci and Destination: Treasure Island. Great puzzles and superb graphics in both.

Actually, there are three Carol Reed Mysteries now:
Remedy Hope springs Eternal Time Stand Still
Edit:
You might enjoy games like Nibiru, The Longest Journey and Dreamfall as well as games like Delaware st. John or the Nancy Drew games. And maybe also games like Return to Mysterious Island and Voyage to the Moon or Journey to the Center of the Earth. There's a game out, called Paradise that you might enjoy, too. Paradise is made by Sokal, who also have 1-2 new games in the making, but I can't remember what they're called right now...
Maybe some other boomer can ??

Actually, there are three Carol Reed Mysteries now: Remedy, Hope springs Eternal, Time Stand Still .... and I played all three, Karsten... 3 treasured favorites, & I forgot* about one of them... imagine that! ... What waaas I thinking?? *Maybe I forgot because I bought the first two at the same time & played them-- one right after the other. So, it was kind of like one extended game.
