Yes, YES, YES!!!!

I've finally reached the point where I can manage to play a keyboard controlled game, but that doesn't mean that I enjoy it....

Count me in.

Played keyboard before but just not as enjoyable as using the mouse.

I'm also a point and click person. When I use the keyboard I usually get my fingers mixed up or go in the wrong direction. You could say that I'm Keyboard Challenged.

Oh yes, those keyboard moves can be a real challenge, especially those that use the W,A,S,D keys. I often find I'm typing on E,S,D,F keys by mistake during those tense fighting, hiding, or running scenes where I need to constantly keep an eye on the screen. So naturally nothing happens the way it is supposed to, very frustrating indeed. So, yes, I too vote for the point-and-click interface! I'll also add, third person, please.

To love is to be happy with!

I prefer point and click but will soldier on through a keyboard game if it's something I really want to play. But any game where I have to think more about the interface than the game diminishes my enjoyment.

I don't care as long as the interface works well and is easy to use. For example, the keyboard interface in Schizm 2 worked much better than the point-and-click interface in Journey to the Center of the Earth.

I like games that use the mouse in some way. I find that for most WASD games that use the mouse, I just keep one finger on the "W" key and use the mouse to pan, and it's very easy.

Sometimes point-and-click and 3D graphics don't mesh well. I think it's actually easier to get around in 3D with WASD than with point-and-click (only exception: Ankh, which made 3D and point-and-click work well together).

For me, the most difficult games to move around in are the keyboard-only games like Grim Fandango. We don't see so many of those as we used to.

Mad (and anyone who wants to use the quote feature), if you want to quote something, you can put
[ quote]
in front of the part you want quoted (without the space between the "[" and the "q") and
After the quoted part you put
[ /quote]
without the space between the "[" and the "/"

I left the space in my example to keep part of my message from quoting itself. Otherwise it would look like this

Quote:

in front of the part you want quoted (without the space between the "[" and the "q") and
After the quoted part you put

I don t mind as long as they keep it simple .I guess though I do go for point and click .I dont like any thing that is timed either I like to relax and enjoy the game not being in mass panic lol.I m in a little panic with this latest Nancy Drew\I keep turning up to late for the meals and this part is really bugging it for me as I don t think it as any thing to do with the mystery and dont like cooking any way not even in a game

I will only buy games that allow you to move via a mouse. So I will play mouse direct control games (Mysterious Journey, RealMyst) as well as point and clicks.

I don't mind the keyboard, but I prefer point & click b/c they keep the motion sickness down while playing games sick

Keyboard for me. That's because I have played my very most favorite game series including all the fan missions Thief for years.

I've just played my way through Riven and now I'm playing Uru and I must say the switch from "point and click" to using a key board (as you can use both in URU) is proving hard...I'm wobbling all over the screen with my poor avatar.

As for "point and click" as games, I like them because I hate getting scared while I play games haha! When I play Return to Castle Wolfenstein I would cheat my way past the levels with monsters and my favourite levels are always the ones where you have to sneak around and be sniper like. No scary monsters or sneaking up behind me thank you! laugh

I enjoy a point and click game, too - using the mouse seems so much more intuititevly than the keyboard. But, playing Oblivion really helped to use the wsad keys moving about. It isn't that hard, but I still prefer to use the mouse in PnP adventure games, though. (and in rpgs as well). I'd much rather use the arrow keys to move about in a game, but that's just me I guess - if I have to use the keyboard.

However, I remember playing a demo of both GK1 and MI1 in which you used the keyboard to type in commands like walk or talk, not just the mouse...

3rd person, too, please, but that's because I tend to get motion sickness if I play games in first person mode with a very loose rotating camera, which mean I don't know which way is up down, left or right... Fixed cameras like in Zork: Nemesis or in Deus Ex goes a little better, though...

Adventure gaming is fun smile

I much prefer point and click, I always seem to have big problems if a game is purely keyboard controlled. Grim Fandango, although a great story, was a nightmare for me to get through. But a combination of the two (mouse & keyboard) can be a good thing - I just loved the free movement of The Awakened and 80 Days, panning with the mouse and moving with the arrow keys.

Point and Click for me. However, Grim Fandango was so good I did not mind the keyboard action.
