I was so glad to see that The Beast Within rated so high. For such an older game I really think it showed well. I would have to say that Beast Within and The Longest Journey are my favorite adventure games of all time.
I can see Syberia winning because it is a beautiful game and I voted for it too. Syberia 2 being rated so high really surprised me. I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as the first game.
The biggest surprise for me was Secret Files: Tunguska. I'm not sure how I missed it, since 3rd person adventure games are my favorite, but somehow this game slipped right by me. With so many votes this becomes a must have for me. I also was glad to see Black Mirror get alot of votes. I enjoyed it very much. I did think Runaway would of rated higer than it did.
What surprised you the most about the list and if you could only vote for one game as your all time favorite what would it be?
It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

I really thought Dreamfall would rate a lot higher, and remember thinking last year that once more people had played it, it would push for the top spot. So that was the biggest surprise for me. I was also a little surprised Keepsake did so well. GK2 and TLJ have always done well, which proves their resilience in the face of new games. Its inevitable that newer games will progressively replace older games for a whole range of reasons.

I've been having a hard time getting into light side games for awhile now - can't seem to find one that grabs me like Secrets of Da Vinci did. Since SF of Tunguska did so well, I'm going to give that one a shot. I too am glad Keepsake did so well. Not sure what it was about that game but I really enjoyed it - didn't notice the bad voice acting that people complained about. Johnboy I loved Stupid Invaders - after playing that I never again looked at cows and toothpaste in quite the same way

I'm glad to see that newer games like Keepsake and SF: Tunguska did score so high up on the list as they did. This shows me that welldone (new) adventure games easily can compare with the classics of old. It kind of surprised me, though. Although the three top titles, didn't much surprise me. But is surprised me too see that the first Syberia game apparently is well ahead of both #2 and #3 on the list... I wasn't surprised that Dreamfall didn't do better, though. I'm still having problems with the red control band... As for the list in general, it clearly shows the bommer's community knows a good adventure game, when they see one

I scanned all the picks especially people with lists similar to my own hoping to pickup on some gems I missed. Several people mentioned games that I had never even heard of before. Ceremony of Innocence I can't even find a review on. I can see a major cash transfer coming on to get me back up to gaming speed .
It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

It's interesting what a low score the Nancy Drew games got. Of the 3 ND's I have I only finished 1 as I was defeated by the timed parts right at the end on the others. However I did like every thing else in the games. Is this why we see ND so often in the hints forum? Maybe all developers should play the first five games on the list to get a better understanding of what we want. I'm really glad that Syberia was at the top as I think this was a wonderful game, the loveliest of graphics and a good story. On the other hand I loved Grim Fandango and Discworld for the humour. Thanks Becky
Has any one seen any little gray cells around as I think I've lost some? Reward for finder.

I love the Discworld games too Gandalf, but I would guess a lot of folks are newer to gaming and have never heard of them. Same with Simon and The Dig and a lot of great oldies.

Hi I've been playing games for a long time now and the more I play the more I find it difficult to select a limited number of favourites or ones I would recommend. There are just so many I have enjoyed I have a struggle every year and am never satisfied with the list I end up submitting Cheers. Mad

I don't know what it says about me but upon checking I've played all the games on the top 50 except Destination Treasure Island and am thinking of getting that as I type.

I had played TLJ, but, would not play Dreamfall due to the interface type. I hate keyboard type games, and from what I read it is just that. Which in turn led me to not even wanting to play it, even though it is the sequel to TLJ. I always like to play the sequel games, but, stay away from keyboard games. I find it impedes my overall enjoyment of the adventure. I really enjoyed Return to Mysterious Island this year and the 2 Dracula games. I loved the story line and graphics and interface an easy to follow and play game. Glad they were on the, list.

@ Ellimay
I just checked my manual (for Dreamfall) and page 10 it says this:" By adjusting the option 'mouse mode' from 'camera' to 'movement' - you can choose to control the characters movement with the mouse.
I also think there's a command to view the camera in fixed third person over the shoulder view...
