That wheel is the game's protection system. It is used by those that have the wheel that is included in the bought game.

I'm still puzzled by how it can be seen as being a protection system when the solution within the game can ultimately be obtained by guesswork alone. It's a multiple choice puzzle, after all. think

MaG

Correct me if I am wrong...But that wheel is nothing more
then a protection thing? I don't understand think

I guess if you don't have the wheel ..It is a Fake game?

Hey Rushes..

I don't know about figuring out the drink thing...I had a problem
had to ask MaG for advice even with the walk through.. duh

The wheel is a form of copy protection. In the past, gamers have complained about sophisticated copy protection sub-programs that you can't delete from your hard drive even when you've finished the game. The code wheel is an attempt to make sure that people bought the game and haven't somehow copied it, and it does this without putting any copy protection programs on your hard drive. People can't play the game past a certain point without inputting info from the code wheel.

As I recall, there were several elements that went into the code wheel. It is extremely unlikely that you'd get it by guesswork -- the solution changes every time. I (cough, cough) did try guesswork for (I refuse to say how many) hours when I wrote the Ankh: Heart of Osiris First Look. I finally gave in and asked the publisher how to solve the puzzle. It was then that I first learned about the code wheel.

Aha, ok, it makes sense now. I only played the puzzle through once (with the wheel) so wasn't aware it was random. smile
