Hello everyone wave

Did any of you ever hear about The City of Metronome? It's one of those games that looks absolutely stunning, but unfortunately, the developers never to this day got a publisher and it was shelved. I'm amazed the Adventure Company didn't snap this one up. I'm just posting this to show you the screenshots.
Isn't it gorgeous? Maybe one day we'll get to see it, or some other game from this obviously inventive and very professional looking team.

That looks more like an action game.

The graphics are pretty but the part about collecting sounds and using them against your enemies does nothing for me. If they took the screens to make a regular adventure, I'd be first in line.

I just found this from AG. It seems it would have indeed been a mix of action and adventure, but from what I can glean, perhaps even less action than Farenheit had. By the way, do you remember an adventure called city of the lost children which was based on a film? The style of graphics of this game remind me of it.wave

I'm with you Merlin. I think I would have loved this game. Any way to encourage developers to start working on it again?

Actually, I just watched an old trailer for it and it's quite different from what I imagined. It's a genre between here and the darkside forum. See what you think. http://www.gametrailer.com/umwatcher.php?id=28111
Hey orchgamer, as it happens, someone started a petition for this a while back.

I have to say that from watching the trailer i believe that it shifts more towards action rather than adventure. Too bad though there wasn't a publisher for this, i wouldn't mind giving it a go.

I was captured by the weird-looking buildings in the first screenshots (when "..Metronome" was featured as an Upcomer, here at GameBoomers) and immediately added it to my To-Buy list. That was before much else was known about it.. esp. that it might not fully qualify as an Adventure (that pesky sound-as-weapon aspect). Too bad it's been shelved.

I have to agree with you Ana: Tying those graphics to a pure adventure game (no combat of any kind) would put me 2nd in line, right behind you. Tweaking it this way might create more interest in the AG community... might bring this title back to life and back to GameBoomers' Upcoming Adventure Games list.

Hi Merlin - I found City of Lost Children for PS1 a number of years ago - despite the age of the game I was completely knocked out by the graphics which were beautiful. The story was quite good but I was disappointed with the shortness of the game but it was unusual & had so much about it - I'd love to see another game in the same style (a bit longer would be nice!) smile
