I'm just re-playing Ankh 1 and climbing up those ramps inside the sphinx reminds me of something from another game but which one?

I vaguely recall a sloping circular ramp, maybe wooden, that might have had pictures or colours or something on the walls that you had to 'do something with'. Maybe it was a timed sequence as I'm sure I had to repeat that part of the game. I don't mean the end sequence of Simon the Sorcerer 3, it was much more 'old fashioned' than that.

Does my vague recollection mean anything to anyone? I'd love to know what I'm talking about, for once! headscratch

Haven't played Uru. Wasn't Pharaoh's Curse an outdoor sequence or have I got that wrong too? The game was an old one, I think but I appreciate your thoughts.

In Curse you had to go down circular steps inside a building to fight a demon. Or am I not recalling the game correctly? Always possible! lol

I'll have to replay Curse to find out but 'the game' I have in mind was less serious and maybe magic was involved in the story. It seems like something from years and years ago....

What about Shivers II. I haven't played it in a long time. Tried to load it but it wouldn't load.

I can't help you with this game, but I have played Shivers II and I don't remember anything of the sorts? However, you can play Shivers II in windows XP in windows NT compatibility mode.

Two games come to mind:

1. Aura: Fate of the Ages. There is a spiral staircase and on the wall is a puzzle or part of a puzzle. I don't recall whether or not magic is involved in the game.

2. Beyond Atlantis II (aka Atlantis III). In one segment you have to play a game involving a staircase (ramp).a gnome, a monkey, amd coconuts. The object is to beat the gnome to the top of the stairs. In another segment you have to travel to the Wizard's Garden and get a Black Rose for the merchant's daughter. I think in this segment there is also a flying carpet.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Haven't played Aura, Beyond Atlantis 2, Morpheus or Shivers. I'll have to replay my oldest games and figure it out. Thanks again for all your help.

thanks for the thought but I've ruled out Broken Sword. It must be a game I didn't like much and never played again. I replay old favourites a lot, including Broken Sword. I think I'll try replaying oldies I don't normally replay, like Kyrandia and Torin's Passage and see if I can find it that way.
