Hi Boomers..

I read alot of post..about some boomers using the words Its a Keeper

I like to know what makes a game rate as being a keeper in your library of games.

For me it is Beyond The Spirits EyE...(Why) First off let me start out by saying I never thought any game was really a keeper.

Until I played this game...I think I truly loved this game because it was developed by an independent, plus this game is amazingly beautiful & spooky at the same time..Also the story line kept me in my seat where I had to finish it...If I was up all nite..I didn't care !!

Thanks For any replys..

Luv Dar

All real adventure games are keepers for me, beside that, most games I own are gifts from friends and I think it shows little respect to them when I give them away.

Well, I'm a terrible one for hanging on to games anyway, so everything's a keeper for me. lol I even keep the "duds" that I had a horrible time with. Maybe in the back of my mind I'm thinking that they'll be like a fine wine and improve with age. But really, a keeper is a game that for whatever reason, be it story, graphics, characters, you know you will play again (and again) at some point in the future.

Duno about keeper, for me the story above all is the most important to me along with good interface then puzzles then conversations then location amounts. But like i said story has to be good and have things to make me interested all the time (lots of subplots is probably the key to a good story)

crazy My keeper rule is generally simple and I only have about 25 'keepers'. If I sat down to play a game and could not / would not leave it, it's a keeper. A short list is all the MYST games (Except IV); Drowned God; and Still Life. those three games alone have cost me hundreds of hours of sleep. It's perhaps noreworthy that I have played all of them at least three times.

If all the people were heroes, there would be no one to watch the parades.

Hi smile

I can't pin it down !! The games I have kept are of such a great variety.

So I'll have to say .... If I thoroughly enjoy a game .... Then it's a "keeper" yes

Otherwise I will trade it on or sell it or just plain give it away - because for someone else it will be a keeper grin

If I'd kept every game I've actually played over the years, then my house would be full of games and I'd be sleepin' rough out there somewhere lol

Cheers.

My very first game was Morpheus. I'll never give it up although it won't play on either of my computers. I still remember it as wonderful. Naturally, others have been added to the list, but due to space available they've had to go. But not the Gabriel Knight games.

I thought we were suppose to keep all games! Unless you have extra copies.

As Kazzmo says I thought all games were keepers, only 2 on the list I would give up if I ever complete them Forever World's and Midnight Nowhere. If I don't finish either no loss.

I usually keep them all too. I only get rid of those that I really don't like at all and have absolutely no saving graces and that I don't expect to have any value of any type as a collectible. I even kept Forever Worlds because it's so bad I figure it will have to be a collectible some day! lol

Well, Darlene, ALL my games are keepers. My friends are in there. And, like real life friends, some are joys to be around and some are irritating. All are people I've gotten to know, however, and I couldn't bring myself to toss them aside. I guess maybe I get too personally involved in games, but I do enjoy looking at my bulging bookshelves and reliving the adventures and relationships in each.

For me, a Keeper is a game that I know I will play again. If I play a game and playing it once was enough, it's time for it to find a home with someone who will appreciate it more than I.

So if I will replay it, it stays. If not, off it goes. Helps to control the amount of space needed to store games. grin

For me the replayability factor has to be such that each time I play it I discover something that I may have missed before and I enjoy it all the more. I have played Under A Killing Moon at least three times but I get a thrill evading the laser beams one has to get pass. I try to see if I can get past that point a little faster than the time before.I only get rid of games that have caused me to gain a few more gray hairs trying to complete it, having mastered that I tend to sale/trade it and move on.
