I just took a break from darkness within and I have a question for you or whoever else has played darkness within loath noder, at times I will be walking my character and all of a sudden he starts spinning in circles. It makes me so nauseous I just quit the game! Whats up with that? Is my character suppose to spin in circles or a computer glitch? I also like 3rd person games better where I Can see my character not just a cursor that helps the motion sickness also. Please tell me if anyone else has felt nauseous when walking or getting spun in circles in the game? I had this motion sickness in one other game and never finished it because of it and it is sherlock holmes the awakened. Has anyone else noticed that darkness within has the same music as scratches? The game Scratches and darkness within are alot alike and sorry to say it is causing me to lose interest in the game. Just my personal opinion. I like more character intervention with other people. I am not liking darkness within for that reason.

Hello Sherryah The game is designed to give you the same experience as your charector and when it spins you feel like he does .I think with this game yes it is done on purpose for after all would there be any point going on the big dipper if it did nt scare or thrill you .Scary game scary experirnce .That is my thoughts .Don t know what other people think

Hi Sherryah, I found it helped if you change the cuser, in "options", to a fixed position ( I think I've got that right ) It still swung around when the story called for it to but I found it was much better. I,m now playing for the third time as my results say I only got 2 of the games 5 secrets and I really want to find out what the other 3 are
Has any one seen any little gray cells around as I think I've lost some? Reward for finder.

Sherryah and dragon -- I'm putting spoiler tags on your posts, as the effect mentioned scared me silly the first couple of times, and I don't think it would have that same result on anyone who had read about it before and was expecting it. Yes, it's intentional. No, it didn't give me motion sickness -- but games with 360 degree panning usually don't (though I know other people can have problems in games with panning). I agree that the beginning environments in Darkness Within have the same Victorian gothic ambiance as Scratches -- however, if you continue through the game, I think you'll find that there are parts of Darkness Within that use dreams/visions much more than in Scratches -- these were some of my favorite parts of the game. I didn't notice that the music was the same in the two games. As far as I could tell the music in Darkness is all original (I could be wrong,of course). There is not a lot of character interaction in the game -- if you prefer games with lots of conversation and interaction, then this one won't be a favorite.

I,m now playing for the third time as my results say I only got 2 of the games 5 secrets and I really want to find out what the other 3 are Hi old lady! Keep trying!! It also took me 3 tries to find all the 'story secrets'. If I can do it, anyone can. I loved every aspect of this game, and I wasn't bothered by motion sickness. "Q"

Troubled me at first, but I just let it do its thing. It's part of the special effects. I think it's very clever and adds ambience to the scene. Teddo

Oh Becky, sorry I feel so silly I thought my computer had a glitch in it because in darkness within your character spins in circles randomly. LOL I had to laugh when I saw it was marked as a spoiler. I still get motion sickness with this game though especially when that happens, and I mean I become nauseous and physically ill. Not fun. I am going to try and do what another boomer suggested and play it with a fixed cursor.Hmm maybe I should seriously consider taking my anti motion sickness pills like I do when I fly or travellong distances by car so I don't get car sick. LOL bound and determined to play this game so it is worth a try. Thank you for your feedback all of you. Sherryah

I have had a few games make me sick a few computer games and a lot of the newer console games, hubby suggested taking motion sickness pills before I play. And it did the trick So you might want to try your anti motion pills, hope it works for you :santa:
I may not have gone where I intended to go,but I think I have ended up where I need to be.

Sorry Ana, Just trying to be helpful as I know a lot of people have not had the chance to play the game and by discussing the game results I did not want you and Becky wasting time putting in the spoiler gray ups.

Actually, you should be putting in your own spoiler tags, we only do that when we have to. If you switch to full reply, you'll see a loudspeaker looking thing. That's the spoiler tag. Ana

not to often but it gets you a little unawares if you know what I mean .You just sort of lose control of the game or you think you are .You have to play to really under stand .Take the pills and see what happens .The motion sickness pills I mean .Id have tried that my self .May play again and see if it works .Guess it would work for other games to then

Never too old to learn. I think it's the adventuregames that keep the old gray cells alive and kicking Which reminds me I have to go to Interact to order Evil under the Sun. Bye for now. I quite agree Becky
