I have a question. I've been toying with the idea of buying this game but... I don't like really spooky/horror genre so, would you put this more detective/adventure or more horror?

Hi Looney and Patricia,

This is definitely a horror game though it is a great detective game also. It's very scary though so if you don't like scary games you may not like it.

No I don't like really scary games, I don't mind some creepy aspects but beyond that nah. I'll skip this one.

Hi Terroulini. I'm so glad the review helped! smile smile

Let's see, I didn't have to use the patch, but I've read that some other gamers have, so I'd say if you encounter trouble along the way, ya might want to download the patch and have it on your PC so you'll be able to run it just in case. smile

Have fun w/ the game!

Terroulini -- I played the game unpatched (on Win XP) and experienced only one minor glitch -- a white screen that disappeared when I hit the escape key.

People did have problems with the first version of the patch. The second version of the patch has just been released, and it's a bit early to tell whether there will be problems with it, though the one person I've seen post about it did not have problems with this second version (using Vista).

I have to say this game will haunting me. There are so many good reviews and thought from all of you and i simply don't have the courage to play this game. My heart was beating like crazy in my first nightmare in the game (not to mention the second one). I didn't get very far after that? Why would he have to return in that spooky house? Anyway i think it's going to be worse from what i read. When i was reading Lovecraft in the past i wouldn't imagine that i couldn't play a game based in his novels. I want to play it but i don't think i can. Pity... blush cry

Volkana -- I've recruited family members to play adventures with me and it adds a new dimension to the experience (this assumes you don't mind someone else dominating the mouse.) lol

Anyone there you can "influence"?
