MaG, hope you don't mind me making this thread.
I've been meaning to find out a little more about our leader for a while now. praise I've created some questions, and you don't have to answer them all, or any if you don't wish. wave

1.Did you solve all the puzzles by yourself in all the games that you played and made W/T's for?

2. Roughly how long does it take you to play through a game?

3. Do you find them all easy or do you find many quite challenging?

4. Which games if any did you find hard?

5.What are some of your personal favourites?

6. Are you a teacher, professor, or have some qualification in logic? smile

Come on and tell us, MaG. This kitty is also curious about you.

I've been using your walkthroughs, and they are quite remarkably well written.

1.Did you solve all the puzzles by yourself in all the games that you played and made W/T's for?

Usually, all the puzzles in the walkthroughs I write have been solved by me. There are some that got me stumped usually the arcadey ones. Jenny did the typing test for me on Nancy Drew Blackmoor Manor. The other puzzles I miss are usually due to time pressure (excuses, excuses). laugh If you see acknowledged names on the walkthroughs, they helped or added additonal information on the walkthrough.

2. Roughly how long does it take you to play through a game?

It really depends on the game and also my available time.
If I'm on time constraints: I play, write my notes while playing, repeat the chapter, rewrite my notes and then proceed to the next chapter. Then replay again. So, I don't know the length of time the game takes.
If I'm not on time constraints and I just play with no writing, a usual game is done in 4-8 hours. There are several games that took me long to play - Rhem 2 and Sacred Rings comes to mind.

3. Do you find them all easy or do you find many quite challenging?

I found Rhem 2 challenging. There will be individual puzzles that will put a brake on my gameplay and I need to stare at the monitor for a while.

4. Which games if any did you find hard?

Rhem 2.

5.What are some of your personal favourites?

It really depends on the type of game. I might enjoy a game because of the beauty, the puzzles, the fun, the dialogue but usually I enjoy logic games. In the games released in the last 6 months, I enjoyed The Awakened, Sacred Rings and Destination: Treasure Island.

6. Are you a teacher, professor, or have some qualification in logic?

I worked in medical allied field all my professional life. These include bench work, teaching, supervisory capacities and research-development in Hospitals, Medical Schools and Universities.

All the questions I had about Miss M were answered in this thread. Thanks, Merlin and MaG. wave

Psssssssssst, for the longest time I thought MaG was a man. Not sure why, but just got that impression. Hard to tell by the avatars and names who is M and who is F.

My nick (and TexasLady's) leave no doubt!

After writing the my post in NYLady's thread about who uses walkthroughs, and my comment on mainly using MaG's work,(sorry abotut the "c") I was thinking about how I would love to know how she does it. And there it is all in a neat little package.

Thanks for the Q & A. Now we know a little more about our resident author of walkthroughs.

Marita, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your answers to those questions; I've wondered about all of the same things myself. smile

Oh, and if you think any of that dispelled any ideas I might have that you are a genius when it comes to solving these games on your own and then writing walkthroughs, it didn't---quite the contrary! smile I don't know how you do it, but it sure is nice for me and thousands of other people that you do! bravo

Thanks so much MaG for making yourself a little more real to us.

I remember it was really nerve-racking on how to work you into my story, since I wasn't sure how you would take it, but did only with the utmost respect and you will always have my respect.

Your chair is beautiful and know you'll look great sitting in it. I agree, it belongs in the hall of fame.

Everytime I get a game, I hurry home and see if you have a walkthrough for it. I print it up and I am ready to play when I can. I have a stack of games and walkthroughs all ready to play and I bet most of them are yours. And may I say thank you for a saved game when it just gets too tough. bravo

Whenever I buy a game, I ALWAYS check the walkthroughs to see if there's one there written by MaG! Then I print it out and have it ready in case I need it (which I usually do, at least a couple of times per game, lol!).

No offense to any other WT writers here or elsewhere, but MaG's are just the best!

THANK YOU, MaG!!!!!!! bravo thumbsup thanks laugh
