Has to be Legend of Kyrandia I. Old, weird game. It was strangely appealing to me at that time. I developed cravings for berries while playing that game.

If you feed the main character a fireberry, it burns his mouth. If you feed him a blueberry, you hear a gulp sound, and he says 'crunchy'. There are also gems and other fruits lying around or on trees in the forest. If he gets lost in the cave maze when his fireberry burns out, he gets eaten by monsters or something. So he has to get to other fireberry locations in the cavern before his fireberries burn out.

Hi smile

Yes, you guessed it, Benedict bravo

But calling one of my most favourite old games "weird" could land you in serious trouble with the Game Police and I might just have to set Sam & Max on your trail !!!! lol lol

Cheers.

Most of our favourite games have some weird things about them that are unique and memorable. Otherwise, they would just be run of the mill. Anyway, who wouldn't like blueberries?

That's gotta be it, Becky. The irritating thing about that game was that even though you had plenty of clues about what was really going on - you had no meaningful alternatives :/

The drama in that game was incredible, as I remember. Some decent acting & set designs in that one. The music section was quite amusing and was worked in well. Offered some nice relief from the general tension. Remember how freaky it was when the ghost would suddenly try to warn you - with her violin playing and all that? Very well done!

No, Becky was right! The game is

Zork Nemesis.

I posted the final clue because I wasn't sure if we want to keep the others guessing.

Anyway, since Becky got it, perhaps Becky could give us the riddle for the next game.

For the rest, thanks for trying.

Salar, thanks for your comments. I don't think the ghost actually tried to warn the player. In fact, I think the poor girl was murdered before she had any idea what was really happening. Thus her spirit could only beg any hero that has ventured into the temple premises to help them.

Cheers, keep playing, and keep guessing.

Hi Benedict -- I added a spoiler tag (as I did with my answer) because those who haven't played this Zork game may not want to know the ending twist. That's why I put a spoiler tag when I guessed which game it was.

Here's my clue:

Why are these young men disappearing? And why are so many of them tall?

Becky, you have accidentally let the cat out of the bag:

"those who haven't played this ____ game..."

smile

For "Guess the Game" I suggest we could have a new type of activity. Give our boomers a quote and let them guess the adventure game characters who made the remark.

Hey Benedict - there are lots of Zork games! laugh

I wanted to narrow it down just a trifle. Think I should remove it?

Second clue -- many of these would all appear to be magnificent physical specimens, dear Watson.
