Just finished the latest ND game and was wondering. Since I have never read any of the ND books, do the games stick with how the story is written, or is there a lot of stuff added to enhance the game?
I haven't read any of the modern books recently enough to remember. I did read the older versions of the books (from the 1940's), and none of them are much like the current ones.
Is this also true with Agatha's and the Sherlock Holmes games?
The Agatha Christie games seem very close to the original stories, though they have different endings. You meet the same characters in the game that you do in the book of the same name, only a different person "did it."
The Sherlock Holmes games from Frogwares are original stories. In spirit I thought Secret of the Silver Earring was closest to a Sherlock Holmes story. Or if you want to go pre-Frogwares, Case of the Serrated Scalpel and Case of the Rose Tattoo were also similar in spirit to the books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
I believe Secret of the Old Clock was said to be based on the book?
It actually had little to do with the book other than the name. I read somewhere that it combined elements of something like 5 different Nancy Drew books.
