There are quite a few games that begin like this, aren't there? None of these I'm afraid.

Another common thing: One of the earlier puzzles is repeated near the end, only slightly different.

I may have misled you. That smiley is whisling ever so innocently at my 'bland game' hint...
Anyway, this hint will probably help.

This game can't decide - is it 1st or 3rd person?

No, but I like your guess.

You got it, Becky!
I promise I'll use less obscure clues next time. I was trying to make it more challenging.

Where does bland fit in? smile

EDIT: That's not the clue, that's a question for Shany.

Here's the clue:

pacify pacify pacify pacify

Two games come to my mind: Jack Keane, but we had that one very recent.
So I try Galves Adventure.

No, sorry.

:bunny: plus praise praise praise

I have decided to retroactively clarify the first clue.

Becky - Bland was a joke, or a misleading clue - Neverhood is such a unique game, so I was trying to make it look like any old adventure. This is why I used the 'whistling' smiley - it was hinting the the game was not bland at all. Maybe a different word would've worked better...

Maybe I shouldn't have retroactively clarified the first clue. lol

Yes, Moai Better Blues is correct. Over to you, Bernard.

Shany inspired the smilie clues with his whistling smilie idea.

Shany -- The Neverhood is anything but bland! But, as you point out, many of the puzzles weren't that original. It was the story and the graphics and the characters that were unique.

Thanks Becky, the second clue gave it away.

You would expect eggs to be found here, but no.
