Yes, I didn't see any of these, and it felt like an injustice to not have a "favorite game" topic in a forum about games.

Mine is....Need For Speed: Carbon, but Evidence comes in at a close second, with The 11th Hour coming in at third.

My Favorite Has to Be...Syberia Games

I like Amerzone, the scenery is great and I love the different creatures. The game seemed so short though I wish it was longer.

The colossal cave adventure - followed closely by "any" LSL of course.

T7G was soooo much better But as long as its not one of those missed games you're in good company.

For an adventure, probably Touche and GK2. For darkside, probably Divine Divinity and Zanzarah. Can't whittle it down to just one.

Oblivion and Riven, neck and neck. In Oblivion after the tutorial you emerge from the dark sewers to the brightness of the hinterland and you can do anything you want you could even go back into the sewers if you liked. This freedom did impress me. Riven is just plain good. The Rhems are close second.

My favorite adventure is The Longest Journey. My favorite action is American McGees Alice and a close runner up would be TR Legends.

All Myst games and in addition Keepsake and Riddle of the Sphinx.

Leaving aside all things Myst (which are like nothing else), I agree with NoraCharles. Grimfandango! For me, it's just about the most perfect game ever.

Whenever one of these lists is developed, no-one ever mentions URU. Even after all this time, with all of its glitches, it's still a work of genius and beauty. I've played it many times and it's still my favorite.

The Original Alone in the Dark is a wonderful game in my opinion, but far too short.

The original Alone in the Dark games are classics. I have all 3 installed in my D-Fend catalog (including the unofficial 4th JITD) - The official 4th game in the series is under the stairs (where it belongs, and will stay).

Has anyone played Zelenghorm (spelling?) so far? That was also a nice game!

Ahhh, Gimli; you have asked one of the great questions in Western Civilization. URU is a beautiful, sensitive; sophisticated; subtle; intelligent; and thoroughly entertaining. However, it is not really a MYST game. (This is not a denigration of MYST games. I like them too. They're just not up to URU standards. Perhaps nothing is!)

I wouldn't say URU is a higher quality game, it just looks better because it can be in the third person.

URU is a love it or hate it game.
I play it a lot to just run around and look at things.Its Tooooo cold to run around outside now
so i just set back with a diet cola and run though URU land.
And it will always be [in my little mind] a Myst game.Your in Myst lands with Myst created people..

I think my favourite is GK2 followed closely by GK1 - difficult choice after that - I love so many!

On the darkside so far: Indigo Prophecy.

It goes w/o saying that my favorite game is Tex Murphy Under A Killing Moon.

My first loves will always be the Gabriel Knight series of games followed closely by the Syberia games...for RPG's it has got to be Divine Divinity

I'd have to say (in no particular order)Syberia, Alone in the Dark (the first one), Realms of the Haunting, Nancy Drew Royal Tower & Haunted Mansion, Dragonsphere, Myst, Myst Exile, Barrow Hill, Darkfall, Legend of Kyrandia, 7th Guest, Eye of the Beholder 1 & 2, Black Mirror, and probably a million others I can't think of right now. lol

Thanks for bringing this up....it's fun to remember which ones I love so I can go and replay them all over again.

The only problem with this type of topic is that all the "Favorite" lists include a game or two that I haven't played. Since I generally respect the opinions I see here, I then have to go find and purchase these games. Now if I could only retire (One more year!) so that I'll be able to play all of them. Ah well, 'The course of true adventure gaming never runs smoothly.'

I don't have a favourite, or even a few favourites, but I do have a long list of games that are to my liking in different degrees. This is because I own a ton of games and am never satisfied with the ones that I have, so I keep buying new ones.

Do I like Alone in the dark (AITD) series? Have played them and found them to be really difficult and too dark to my tastes, so I have to say that I was never really fond of them. But I have found Silent Hill 3, in many ways similar to AITD series, to be rather good and I have played it a few times to unlock secrets and easter eggs.

Lots of them but right off hand: Myst, Riven, Luxor (the older adventure game), Syberia 1, Aura, The Dark Falls, Riddle of the Sphinx,Scratches, Keepsake, Shivers 1, Barrow Hill, Still Life, Myst 5, (myst 4 would've made the list but for having to draw on that darn tablet):(Uru-would've made the list but for timed action puzzles (with not enough time) and jumping..), Myst 3 Exile,Morpheus, Gabriel Knight 2 (never finished 3..just too, too tedious), LightHouse, The Rhems!! Zork Nemisis, Zork Grand Inquisitor...and some action/adventures i have played because was able to get and use cheat codes: Rune, Curse of Isis, Alone in the Dark (4): The New Nightmare, Wheel of Time(an older game, but worth playing..very overlooked in my opinion) American McGee's Alice..and one of the creepiest..Undying! and i know more i just cannot think of right now.

The "Broken sword" games are some of the best adventure games on the planet imo.
The "Monkey Island" games were good,"Grim Fandango" and also worthy of note is "Nightlong a union city conspiracy" excellent sci-fi adventure game.

I'm with Gimli and Haze - all the Myst games plus Uru and Path of the Shell are my favorites! Out of those, If I had to pick one, it would be Riven !!

The Haze: glad to be able to ask exceptional questions URU for me is a Myst game because of the landscape, the Myst people in it and so on. Now I have half a mind to play URU a forth time...

I absolutely LOVE Syberia. I'm playing Syberia 2 right now. The graphics are sensational, the voices (acting) are realistic. I just love it and will be sad when it's finished.

My only wish in Syberia 2 was that Kate Walker had changed her clothes finally... nope same outfit. She's been wearing it a long time. And when I tried to make her take a shower she said it was too cold. Pee Phew!

I also like Nancy Drew. I don't like scary games.

Gimli; I decided that I knew where to go to find a definitive answer and prove you were mistaken. I went to the new online web site to see what the game was called because that name would help clarify the connection of MYST and URU. What do they call the online version? MYST online - URU live! That sure doesn't help much. One thing we do agree on, I've loaded mine up again. I love making my player old, chubby and bald. That way he looks like me!

Syberia 1 and 2, and Still Life. But I really like playing card games such as: euchre, pinochle (double deck) rook etc.

Too many to mention. However, the one game that will always stay with me is my very first game I ever played, on my son's computer, which was 'Shivers'. From then on, I was hooked.

It doesn't matter whether it's a Myst game or no, the Haze - URU is a fantastic game!

I have to agree that Under a Killing Moon was incredible! I think that my favourite Tex Murphy game was Pandora Directive! I am still completely devastated and disappointed that they didn't make another game after Overseer!
