Hi everyone. I woke up early this morning and have been sitting here staring at my monitor, realizing how many games I have installed and I think that I need to make a confession. I'm addicted. I don't know why I can't have only one game installed at a time, or why I can't concentrate on and play only one at a time, but I think I need help because I have all of these installed: Barrow Hill (replaying, I LOVE this game) Secrets of Atlantis: The Sacred Legacy Last Half of Darkness: Shadow of the Servants Riddle of the Sphinx Delaware St. John 1 (replaying, I love this game too) Blackwell Legacy and Sherlock Holmes the Awakened Am I getting out of control or what? lol! Last night I was looking at ALL of my games here on my desk and wondering if I had enough space to install ALL of them so that I could play them at will and on a whim....Good Lord! Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this. But, if I am, then come pick me up and take me to the asylum, I can't stop myself! Cat, wanting to play all of the games at one time and wishing she actually COULD!

Cat, I can't say that I've got a lot of games installed on my computer; I've got enough of a problem remembering from game-playing time to game-playing time what I'm doing in ONE game. HOWEVER, my games to be played are all over the place! They're downstairs in a cabinet, downstairs on a bookcase, under my bed in storage bins-2 of them-and scattered all over the rest of the house. The way I play, I'll have to live to 100 to get anywhere NEAR completing all of them!
The answer is....chocolate! Who cares what the question is.....

Cat -- I hesitate to admit this, but...when my hard drive fills up, I just buy a new computer. I now have four computers, from Win 95 to Win XP, all but the latest with hard drives chock full of games. You are not alone! Wanna go into group therapy somewhere together? I know this nice online multiplayer adventure game where we can meet in a cozy neighborhood to discuss these particular issues.

Becky, Good Gracious! Fang yells at me because I have 2 computers and I only saved my 98 so that I could play all the old software in my BAAGS pile. You have helped me feel good about myself. I was feeling selfish. Marion

WOW! I had no idea that the gaming addiction could go this far! I've never had more than one computer and one game going at a time. Multiple computers with so many games installed just blows my mind. I do have extra games on hand to be played (and some on order) but not to this extreme. Am I just a little BAAGie in comparison?
To love is to be happy with!

Catbelly36, you are not alone Not only do I have multiple games installed on my PC (at the moment, amongst others, Sherlock Holmes The Awakened, Faust, Keepsake, Time Stand Still, Dreamfall, NeverWinter Nights (an RPG), Zoo Tycoon 2, several demo's and a beta or two, I also have a couple of gameconsoles on which I am playing games such as Discworld and Glass Rose on my PlayStation, Still Life on my Xbox and Phoenix Wright on my Nintendo DS... Every now and again I try to promise myself and my husband that I will really definitely finish a game before starting a new one, but I almost never succeed.
I'll be back, one day, when I feel like it.

I play one game at a time. Whats the rush? I work between 8 and 12 hours a day, I dont have the time like I used too. Now I even forget where I leave off when I stop. Use to play them about 6 hours a day straight till real life got in the way..

Becky---LOL! I feel better already! <BG> And yes, let's stroll into a game world and hang out over coffee...this addiction thing really needs to be discussed, pronto! (or, we could just discuss the next game we're gonna buy. LOL) thanks PolloDiablo! SO glad I'm not alone! And in listing my games I forgot to mention the various demos, the Nintendo DS games, the GBA games, and the Playstation 1 and 2 games I have hanging around. I think we both have issues, but only in a good way. lol PS I noticed you mentioned Glass Rose. I'd heard that was only coming out in Japanese...did they go ahead and make an English version? I would LOVE to play that game someday if they did! Catsmom---You're normal and we're just nuts, that's all. LOL No but seriously, I've been going to school part time and not working so I've had lots of free time recently. When I was working full time AND going to school I don't think I even looked at a game for months. (Guess I'm making up for lost time. lol) Cat, staring at her piles of games and feeling secure knowing she isn't alone

Yes, there is an English version for Glass Rose, but I'm afraid it's PAL only so you can only play it on a European PlayStation...

Hmmm... well, I don't have enough space for more than one computer; everything's stacked on top of the dining table as it is - if I wave my knife & fork around too enthusiastically the printer tends to get a whack. I only ever play one game at a time, although I do keep favourite games installed for months after I finish them, just in case I feel like a replay.

Catbelly, Kinda sneaks up on ya doesn't it? I think we've all probably had that "Holy Cow" moment. It's just good, clean, non-fattening fun as far as I'm concerned, and I absolutely refuse to feel guilty.

Right now I have 6 games loaded on the old laptop. That number isn't including the games I've kept on the hard drive that don't need a disk to play.(Like Safecracker and the MCF games) I just did a computer index of all of my games and came up with the huge number of 101 in my collection. I almost had a heart attack!!! Out of that number there are about 15 that I want to get rid of. The rest are keepers.

I collect MAME images (the old video arcade games) from time to time, last time I checked I had nearly 1000 of them

I have a ME and an updated XP and a Playstation 3. I don't have too many games because I give them to my children and grandchildren when I'm finished. Riven, Exile, Oblivion and Morrowind will always remain with me. And the Rhems. A few games I've destroyed in fits of rage but not too many. Probably have 30 games now with 3 installed on ME and six on the XP and two on Plystn.

Hi Becky, Yup you may ask and I'm going to get in trouble with some of these but here goes. Threepwood, I think that's his name, Siberia, Age of Mythology. Now Age of M, I bought it and my granddaughter, Erin, liked it so much I gave it to her. Bought another and try and try and try not to kill off a total army in seconds but each time I did. Started over same thing so it ended on the floor under my pounding foot. Ha,Ha. $30.00. MOS, to me like Siberia it is a lame time waster. S didn't get smashed but MOS did. Worm Blaster, don't buy it!!! Couldn't get through the tutorial! It's a dumb game. Frankenstein. I really wanted to play it but it was so buggy and I tryed so hard but I believe that one I hit with a hammer. That might be all. That behavior isn't to bad considering the effort and money invested in these games. There might be more, just can't think of them right now.

I recall one game that I threw away in the trash as I was so upset with it. You will never guess, but it was Nancy Drew, Secret of Shadow Ranch. I was having problems with some of the action stuff (using the lasso for one) but I managed, but the ending of the game was impossible.
Click Here For A SpoilerI couldn't get away from the killer. Nancy would hear him calling how close he was getting ("Only one more door!")and it completely distracted me. It was in a maze yet!
I was thinking of buying more Nnacy Drew games until that happened and put me off forever. At least, forever so far!

Pollo Diablo---Shoot! Well, I've been wanting to go live in England for years so maybe I should just pack up hubby and the pets and head over...then get a PAL system. LOL sigh.... Starlite Moon----Well, at one time I had 60+ games but I've gotten rid of alot in the past few months, so my stash isn't as big as it used to be. Now it's aot 35 or so, but not nearly as big (and wonderful!) as 2000! Can I come t your basement and look in your boxes? You've got my inner game collector drooling! LOL LOL

Games are like books, don't you think? For me they have taken over reading and math problem solving and cryptograms. Some games really make the brain tingle . People have libraries so we can have game libraries. Games like books can be classics and some I wonder why I bother and the latter are thrown out or the other fate. I wonder how many games Threads has.

Hey catbelly. I am surrounded by games. Most I have played, two stacks that I have not. A few are waiting for me to upgrade my video card to be able to properly play them. (Dreamfall is one.)
Not only do I have many games loaded, I also subscribe to Big Fish Games and GameTap. I also hang out in the Cavern from time to time.

Now, years later, I might actually replay the game. The memory of frustration has faded... Well, I did qualify that forever somewhat by adding that "so far" but I have a strong hunch that I've had it with that series. So now, what is this game that you almost microwaved? What a really, truly novel way of destroying a game, or a microwave, as the case might be!

Your not going to like this Cat,but i will tell you what your other so called friends won't. YOUR SICK.You can't get through the day with out a game FIX.You set twisting your fingers ,pacing back and forth waiting for the mail,so you can rip the wrapper off and cram that disk in the drive to load it and as that install bar starts moving so slowly you feel the rush and then and only then can you settle down to see what game has come. Yes Cat you are a SICK kitty. Your only hope is a slower hobbie.Bird watching or stamp collecting come to mind. I hope you take this advice. Now i have to go and decide which of the nine games i am playing now to play today.....HEHEHEHEHEHE Ron.

Oh gosh, Becky, I remember Lighthouse and I couldn't finish it. I no longer have it (moved twice since those days and many games have "disappeared") but I also hear it faintly calling me now and then. I seem to remember those parts I managed to play better than some recent games that I actually finished. Odd is right!

Hi Cat, we are the best of company aren't we? And something else - a new study said that gaming improved the eyesight YES YES so now I'm playing Zuma without my thick glasses(nearsighted). I used to cook, clean, garden, run to the library every 2 weeks befor gaming. Was a real good picture of a grandma. And now I dream about my games. Some scarey games can give you nightmares. Once I kind of solved a Rhem problem while just waking up. Still, could someone out there write a game for smart kitty cats.
