I must be mad or addicted - maybe both! crazy

I have 8 unplayed games on the bookshelf:
The Experiment, Jack Orlando, Jazz and Faust, ND - Haunting of Castle Malloy, Nikopol, Sinking Island, Traitors Gate, Traitor Gate 2.

And guess what I just did tonight? Ordered 4 more.
Everlight, Nostradamus, Outcry and Rhiannon.

No wonder I don't get much sleep
Only people here at Gameboomers know what this addiction is about. Right? rotfl

Maybe I should buy shares in Dave's site. lol

RAL wave

I'm right there with you, BAAGS. My problem is the adventure companies can't keep up with me. I am always looking for new games to play.

I would recommend Jack Orlando, Sinking Island and Nostradamus. I can't get the Experiment to run right; Jazz and Faust is an old game but OK; I quit playing ND games when they started having the alarm clock; I didn't like Traitors Gate; don't know anything about Everlight or Rhiannon; am trying to play Outcry but it's just machine puzzle after machine puzzle so far.

I don't think you are mad but you may possibly be addicted. Speaking of addicted, have you tried the hidden object games?

Happiness doesn't occur until your unplayed pile is twice as tall as your played one.

Gameho, how do you compare a hidden object game with an adventure game?

RAL I have some games I haven't played yet as well. I keep playing some of my favorites over and over so the new ones are still waiting to be played!

I am also addicted, but I have to install and look at the graphics straight away. I need to see how beautiful the game is going to be. Lovely scenery and close-ups of objects does it for me. How sad am I?? rotfl

RAL, I thought I was the only one. Nice to hear that I'm not as sickly addicted as I thought. I never have any money cause I put it aside for games. I can't even keep up with getting them all played. I am behind by three newly acquired adventure games. I am presently playing two more and have four still preordered. Isn't life grand? For me--- a cup of coffee, a great adventure game, and Gamboomers . We may be addicted but isn't it great! yay broccoli

Yea, I am like this too. I can still remember the first game that got me started collecting games and it wasn't really even an adventure game. It was called Elvira Missteress of thhe Dark and it was more of an action adventure.

I'm not really comparing hidden object games with adventure games. It's just that they are very addicting also and it's nice to take a break sometimes or play something different while waiting for another adventure to come out.

Hey Jalex

Re: Elvira

I loved that old game, especially that bit involving cooking up spells using ingredients hidden in the premises. And I liked the bit about crossing swords with zombies. Having the gory pics for the endgame scenes were really cool, even though these pics disturbed me a great deal as a kid. I even liked the code wheel used for copy protection.

Me too, me too! What an addiction. I got rid of quite a few and now have even more, some I will never part with and some won't play right or load ie. The Experiment but little by little I work my way through them and keep ordering MORE!!! I love it!!

happydanceOh yes-aint that the truth! When I first discovered the wonderful world of games I BAAGed so many, fearing they would no longer be available-that was 6 years ago-and I still have 4 of those I bought that year unplayed-little did I know more and more good games would come out and I could never keep up with them all.
Now, I try to only buy highly praised ones and I read reviews and people's comments first. But I still have 7 or 8 newer games yet to play-I'm firmly convinced we'll never run out of games-what a grand thought! bravo

Your addiction gets worse when you start playing casual games lol

Now I am addicted to two different types of game playing...

I must say...Its all,Ana's fault lol...One day I posted I was bored had nothing to play...She told me come on down to try out the casual game list...I have been there also ever since two years now..

That's not the half of it either! Not only do I have and kept all the MYST series but now I am rebuying them from GOG as downloads so they play on my WINXP computer!! And I have all the old Tex Murphy games from them too and The Dig...as for the 'casual games' there are some adventure games offered by BFG as well that are great - just finished Green Moon, been at it for more than a week or so. And the hidden object casual/adventure games have me hooked also. My new unplayed stack of 'regular' games includes COM The Tree of Life, Still Life 2, (latest) Treasure Island, Black Circle, and Book of Legends, also Hidden Secrets The Nightmare. What fun! (I',m 74 and hope I live long enough to play all these and LOTS more)
Love, Betty Lou

Retired at last grin

I keep on trading for and buying games, telling myself each time I do that I MUST have a clear out of games I know I'll never play again yes

Only to follow that by telling myself .... But then again, I just might ....

And so the collection, the entertainment and the pleasure keeps on growing lol lol lol

Hey, y'all,
Do you realize you are answering a thread that was started way back in October, 2008? I think your posts are somewhat late, but interesting even so!
