Here tis. 13 days to list 13 Dark Side games that other people should play. Your paler siblings have just identified the adventure games - over here, its all about those games that you think newbies should play if they were minded to take a stroll in the dark.
You all know the drill but here are the rules:

1. You can recommend a maximum of 13 games, but you can recommend less.
2. You can't list a series, unless you use single votes for each game.
3. Expansion packs will be considered seperate games, on the basis that the original might be ordinary but an expansion pack superb.
4. Consistent with (3), packaging a game with seperate expansion packs (eg Morrowind Game of the Year edition) does not count as a single game - the original and its two expansion packs will still need to be listed seperately.
5. Witcher and Witcher Enhanced will be considered one game (the extra bits were not seperate expansion packs).
6. Any "dark" game (ie not pure adventure or casual) can be listed, irrespective of genre.
7. You don't have to indicate the type or genre, and you are not limited to any specific number of games in any genre. Go ahead and list 13 rpg's if you choose.
8. It is essentially a pc list, but given that many players have consoles as well, if you want to list games for the console go right ahead.

If you can list alphabetically it helps me count, and please use full names, as I am not as familiar with titles over here. If I get confused, I will holler.

None the less, my top 5 for the Dark Side remain pretty much the same as last year with Witcher easing out Morrowind for 1st followed closely by KOTOR 1 & 2 and then the TR series. Unfortunately Betrayal at Antara (my first RPG) got squeezed out of my list this year because it is difficult to play on the newer machines.

I limited myself to choose only one from each the series above, with Thief III likely being the most controversial -- I just feel that the Shalebridge Cradle area tips it over Thief I.

Hi all and thanks trailmystic for the assistance.
Only a few days to go - cutoff is this weekend, so get listing.
Some clarification.
Having consulted those far more erudite than me on matters dark, Witcher and Witcher Enhanced will be treated as one game, and votes for Morrowind GOTY will have to be redone. As we count expansion packs as seperate games, and this is really a packaging of the original plus two expansions, for the purpose of our list it is technically 3 games.
I will amend the first post and contact the couple of people who voted for GOTY.

Well here I go again. I strongly disagree even though I'm outnumbered. Morrowind GOTY has the complete Morrowind with the added chapters but it's still Morrowind. If you buy the expansions separately you still have Morrowind. You can't have the expansions without Morrowind so it is just an extension of the same game. In fact when you start the game with either Tribunal or Bloodmooned installed you are taken to the Morrowind launcher and you cannot go directly to either expansion you are started in Morrowind and you have to work to get to either expansion, so I still contest that they are all part of one game.

If that's the case then Sacred Gold should be treated the same way since it includes Underworld, which is an expansion. Witcher enhanced also includes two new adventures and with the latest patch includes 6 new adventures.

My point is that if you need the basic game to play anything then they should all be included in the basic game.

But what do I know I'm just old and had a bad day. You make the rules and I'll follow.

I totally agree.

Your point about Sacred Gold is right-on oldman and Sacred and Sacred Underworld should be listed individually, which is what we have done in past lists. The same goes for Morrowind, and similar games with formal, separately marketed expansions. Everyone has an opinion and while we can respect all, we can not necessarily please everyone so, as in the past the rules stand.
