Hi is there such a thing as a saved game for Dreamfall? I'm not very good at the fighting, and need to get past the Pizza guy in the Hotel. I've managed other fights up to now... But have been stuck here for quite awhile. Thanks in advance.

Hey Rushes thanks for the save. I can't get it to show up in my game folder. I found the save file within the game and I only show 4 saves although I have several. auto 1,2,3. I figure that is the chapters. Do I overwrite my last ? I will try agin. I generally don't have any problems with saves. I find I need them quite frequently! I think I may have figured out what I did wrong... I will be back....

Did you find the game folder in the suggested location? If you've saved more than 4 times then you might need to hunt around for those saves. Give the save I sent you a new number rather than overwriting. Keep us posted.

Hi Rushes, thanks for the save. I can't get it to come up in the save game file. Or I can't find it. I found the folder, and it shows three saves although I have several. It shows auto, 1,2,3. I guess that would be chapters. I tried to put it in sequence, but my saves show no sequence, just dates. What was the date of your save? I can't tell by the images just what I am looking for?? And as I have old dates within my file, I'm having trouble recognizing yours... I generally don't have any problem with saves, as I need them often... help again! Thanks again.

No luck finding any other saves...I did a search and everything with Dreamfall came up even your email. Rats... I keep you posted.

You can use the edit text button at bottom right of the frame to add info to a recent posting. Thanks. I combined your post and deleted the duplicate one.

If you're using XP:
Open the saves folder by processing to - C:\Program Files\Funcom/Microids - name of publisher\Dreamfall\saves folder
Check what is the last number you have in that saves folder.
Download the sent save file and rename it to be the last numbered saved game.
Then place it together with the other saved game files.
Close all folders and play as usual.
The loads are arranged by dates - so scroll to beginning of load and check where it is.
Load and play.

I'm using Vista, and in program files is Empire Interactives, and that is where the Dreamfall folder is. When you open saves there are 4 saves, checkpoints, sav.01, sav.02, & sav.03. I am on chapter 3. They can't be opened you get the " what program do you want etc...". Maybe Vista is the problem?

You do not open the files sent to you. The game opens it.

As stated above post - after renumbering, you place it together with the rest of the files.
Then you close all folders.
Then play-load as usual. In the load page, scroll to the beginning to find the saved game to click on and load to play.

Did all of the above. did not open file. under chapter three when I load the game all that is there are the saves that were previously there. I changed it to dreamfall_03.sav. And added it to the rest of the files, then closed out and went to the game. No luck..

I went to my xp machine where I had the game also. It just runs terrible on this computer and I don't know why, I was on chapter one, and I put the save in and it worked great. Just runs like garbage. So... it must be Vista. At least I know now where I would have been in the save. And it would have been perfect. Oh well. Thanks. If there are any suggestions when the game is being played on Vista , Thanks in advance.

I don't have any saved games for Dreamfall Chapters, but maybe someone else will. It would be helpful to know where in the game you are stuck and needing a saved game, as well as whether you downloaded it from GOG, Steam, etc.

This thread was about saves for the original Dreamfall game from 2006, not Dreamfall Chapters.

The save system in Dreamfall Chapters is very complicated.
As far as I can tell, the save includes the contents of an entire folder and not just one file. I don't know if anyone here has a save.

Using someone else's save will give you their "choices" and not yours.
Someone asked for a save in the ***Red Thread Forum*** and the save they got produced a less than perfect result. However if you're having a technical problem, any save might be better than not being able to continue.

You could try asking for a save in the Red Thread forum.
