There are several patches for this expansion. Do I have to install them in order or will the most recent one cover all of them?

I searched the older thread and found that I used this patch:

http://www.gamershell.com/download_39378.shtml

It is the only one you need.

Pokey, do you know which patch(s) are for regular Gothic 3? There are quite a few listed and some say community patch. Should I just install the latest version period? Or are some incremental patches needed? Or does the Forsaken Gods patch include the Gothic 3 patch? think

Sharon, I don't remember what patch I used. I think it was just one and not a community patch. There have probably been improvements since I played.

From what I read, it looks like community patch 1.7 is the best.

Thanks, Pokey, for the link. I ended up installing all four patches just in case. the Gothic series is one of my favourites, and knowing that this expansion is supposed to be very buggy, I didn't want to be in an impossible situation well into the game. Now I hope all goes well to the end.

Sharon, I don't remember which patches I used for the Gothic3 main game but check the dates on any patches you find so that you at least know the order of installation.

Does anyone remember how to pickpocket in Forsaken Gods? I don't have a manual and my Gothic manual doesn't explain how-to.

Rowan, I couldn't find the info by googling, so we'll have to wait for a veteran of the game. luck

Problem solved itself. The opportunity to pickpocket arises in conversation with some chharacters only.

But now I'm stuck on a quest: I have to go to Trellis and interview 4 orcs about a dark mage. I've done that and exhausted all conversation topics. However when I return to the quest giver the quest is not complete yet. Does anyone remember this part?

Also where is the Trellis teleporter stone? I'm getting tired of running to this place when rapid transit could be available.

Thanks in advance.

insaneI'm still stuck on the dark mage quest in Trellis. I've interviewed everyone. I've waited for the dark mage to show up at midnight but I haven't seen him. Has anyone played this?

I've used a cheat code with the console to generate the black mage. I returned to Inog and the quest completes. I get the next quest to kill the mage. I return to the black mage and kill him. I get all the various points, etc. and the quest completes. I return to Inog so he can finally return to his brother Anog. However, now I don't get a conversation option to trigger this. Stuck again on this bug. hardwall Has anyone played this game?

Sorry, I didn't see this till now. I had the same problem with the black mage and used the console to get to him. The situation with Inog sounds familiar but I will need more info to see if I can help.

Here is a walkthrough with nice maps. Maybe it will help. If not, I'll try to help.

Thanks, Pokey. I already have that walkthrough. I used it to help me solve the blackmage problem. The problem I am having is with the quest right after to escort Inog to his brother. Killing the mage was the last thing I had to do for Inog so he should be willing to come with me. My quest log shows all quests leading up to this as done. The only conversation topic I get is to risk pickpocketing. I can't progress with the game. frown

If you have all quests listed as completed, I don't know what is wrong. Did you kill the Black Mage in the cave? All I can suggest is to go to an earlier save and try the quests again. I just don't remember anything strange happening here.

You won't believe this. Using the console I summoned the mage 3 times and killed him 3 times. There are 3 bodies in the cave now. between each killing I went back to Inog and just got the pickpocket option as before. On the last try, just as I was about to give up again, I got the option to take Inog to his brother. Have no idea what triggered it this time but I'm happy I saved it.

That's great. You were persistent. Hope it goes more smoothly now. There were a couple of strange happenings for me later in the game.

Are there any vials in this game? I've learned how to make permanent potions but lack empty vials. I've found only one so far.

Ana, that walkthrough is not for Forsaken Gods. G3 Gorsaken Gods is a stand alone game but it has many bugs. I was just wondering if the lack of vials is one of the glitches or if there is hope to find a few more. Thanks for trying to help. smile

Rowan, I googled but had no luck. Hopefully, a vet will be by and will be able to help.

Have you tried all the alchemists? I don't recall anything about vials. Here is the forum if you haven't found it:

Sorry not to get back sooner. I haven't played much for the last few days. Instead I put on my fall gardening armor, unsheathed my weed and leaf raking sword, and fought my battles in the garden. :witch: Now I'm healing with a potion of tea.

I was able to buy some vials from a merchant. thanks
