How do I trigger knights of the nine and shivering isle add ons?

Rhonda, have you gone to the chapel and talked to everyone to see if someone will give you a quest to find the prophet?

Off the top of my head, to start Knights of the Nine, go to the chapel in Anvil. Out front should be a profit, talk to him.

I know it comes up in conversation in other places, about a prophet and the chapel attacks in Anvil.

For Shivering Isles, after one day (in game), an entry is added to your journal talking about a mysterious portal/entrance that has opened up in Niben Bay (at least I think it's there).

There's a location marked on your map you can travel to there.
