I got the metal detector after I did the coconut throw. Check the walkthrough for the sequence of how I played the game.

Somehow I have lost my saved games and I am now going to start a new game. Will your saved game apply?

What do you mean destroys all?
You can't load any saved game using the in game load?
Are you trying to open the file that is sent?

I don't show a saved game in My Documents. However, I have Ransom folder . Which I move to desktop. Then drag your sent saved game to this folder. When I go back to play game ther is no saved game at all and I must start a new game. What am I doing wrong? This has happened twice.

Betty, don't move your Ransom folder to your desktop - that is what is causing the problem.

Leave the game folder in My Documents. The only file you need move is the individual save file that I or MaG e-mailed to you. Save that individual file alone into the Ransom folder in My Documents. Then exit all folders, start up your game as usual and load the new save.

Betty,

Scroll to the first part of the lits (Bottom). See if there is another coconut saved game there.
The saved game files are arranged by dates.

The save you sent is on my desktop. I right click and select "copy". right?

Copy and paste may not work the same with Vista as it does with XP, Betty. Try left-click-dragging and dropping the file into your game folder instead.

And none of these saves are showing in the load screen when you start your game up? headscratch

Let's try one more thing. Move all of those saves out of the game folder, and put them either to your desktop or in your main Documents folder just for temporary safekeeping. Now start up a brand new Ransom game, and save once at the very beginning. Now exit out of the game, and look in your game folder - you should have just one save in there, the one you just made. Replace the saves you previously moved, back into the game folder. Do not move the game folder itself to any other location.

Now start up the game as usual, check your load screen and see if your other saves appear.

Very strange! At least hopefully now you can carry on and play without having to start over from the beginning again.

As far as I know XP saved games work with Vista. Members have used our saves for Vista.

But you still think that it works - let's wait for a Vista gamer to help you.

Aim for the guava, crab or starfish, in that order of preference. They carry higher points. Also remember that you only have 8 coconuts per round, so try not to waste a coconut on a lizard which is only worth 1 point. luck

I'm having no luck with the coconut game. I saved the game you send awhile back to a new folder. In my documents I dragged Ransom game to bottom of document page. Then I dragged the new folder with your game to the bottom of the page on top of the other game. No success to move on in the game.

Betty,

That is not the right way to do the saved games.

Do this slowly and carefully:
1. Open My Documents folder.
2. Open Ransom folder.
3. Download the attachment-saved game sent to you to desktop.
4. Place the saved game file sent inside the open Ransom folder.
5. Close all folder.
6. Play and load as usual the Ransom game.
7. Scroll to look for the one you installed there.
Good luck.

If you used one of the saved games sent to you, they are earlier than your own saved game.

I'm sorry, Betty. frown Perhaps leave the game installed for a while longer and give the coconut throw game another try later on. I often find that a bit of breathing space helps no end with frustrating mini-games such as this. smile

Betty,

From the boat go diagonal right. Then watch the metal detector bar - see the picture below for the location where to dig.

Go back to the ladder sticking down. You'll see it at extreme top left of the screen. Keep moving left and up.

You can refill your air tank back at the resort. In the reception area, there's a wall mounted cupboard to the left of where George is standing. That's where the refill equipment is. luck

I couldn't find the Easter Egg so just moved on. got the banner for Johnny. He gave me battery. I talked to CouCou about his perch after decoding the portion in El Toro's journal. I went to all the beaches but could not find a piece of driftwood. Somehow I have missed something. Any ideas?

Did CouCou say that she wanted a driftwood perch? Feed her a guava and she'll tell you, then you should be able to find the driftwood on the beach.

I have found five different driftwood branches to Coucou and she refuses them all. I haven't been able to find the sixth piece even though walkthrough says there are three at one of the beaches--can't find it.

The dials are found:
By beating the far-right monkey at a game
From Caridad's chest
From the bat cave
At Halfmoon Reef
From the rock at Blue Hole
From the metal disk wheel at Shark Cove

You're very welcome. smile12

Have you read the journal page which mentions the diving at Blue Hole?

You'll need a glowstick to dive, if you haven't one already. Speak to Johnny, he can help you.
