You rectify the high price by telling yourself it's a personal Christmas gift. Come on! You KNOW you are worth it!!

So far, a North American publisher for the game has not been announced, so there's no way to know how long it will be until it hits store shelves here, or what the price may be when and if it does release here. If you want a new disk version, an import (through Interact, for instance) will be the only way to get it for awhile.

Just had a look on Amazon and it`s got a release date of 13th November price £20.27 although the price in the "new and used" category is from £17.95. Not sure what that translates to in dollars.

Hmm, if I buy the game via InteractCD it's still 2 euro cheaper (icl. shipping) than if I buy it directly from Iceberg Interactive (excl. shipping)(they are based approx. 12 km from where I live.)

Exchange rates, shipping fees, and postal charges are just weird. Sometimes these things happen.
