I haven't seen anything here on the forums about this mod, but I've been playing it for a few weeks & the restored content is definitely worth another play. Here's a link to the website for anyone interested. www.deadlystream.com

I didn't even know that it had been released yet. But I'll be installing Kotor 2 once I've finished Fallout 3.

Yes, they have - it is a different team, though, that did this restored content mod than the other team who worked many moons on restoring content.

Sadly frown - things went wrong...

I'm happy smile that we now have the content restored in KOTOR2, though.

Nice. Has Team Gizka abandoned the project altogether?

Yes, I think they have...

Based on infor from rpgcodex (a roleplaying site) they did indeed abandon the project all-together. I think? maybe the project lead left or something like that..

That's a shame. They even had trailers going. I suppose I will have to try out this instead when I get home in December. Thanks, dudemako!

Actually, the mod isn't completely dead, and here's the reason to why there hasn't been any progress on it by Dashus

This could be fun. I've always loved KOTOR2 but felt it was unfinished. Regardless, having new content to play will be great. I wonder if it will play on my laptop....

My laptop WOULD play it, if it weren't for Vista. Does anyone know where I can get the mss32.dll file I need to make this game work on Vista? I see all sorts of reference to it in my Google searches, and a few links that go nowhere or don;t actually go to the file I need, but I have yet to encounter the actual file itself for downloading. Very annoying.

Thanks. I'll give that a shot. If that fails my other option seems to be a simple cut and paste from KOTOR 1. Hopefully that'll get the game going.

I haven't played these games for three or four years, so it'll be fun to get back to them -- and yes, they run on my laptop. Interestingly, KOTOR 1 plays without any sort of messing around; it installed perfectly and I've had only a couple of CTD's.

I wonder if this computer could be downgraded to XP? It has a good graphics card (NVidia GeForce 9600 GT), but Vista is very annnoying.

XP is definitely more user friendly. I got Vista on my laptop, and am therefore confined to the childish-looking so-called "friendly" OS that Microsoft deemed a worthy successor of XP.

I actually bought a copy of XP Pro just to keep in handy for my stationary gaming computer. I'm so glad I did, I don't ever want to have to use Vista more than necessary.

That said, I am really looking forward to trying this out. So many games, so little time and...

No gaming computer here in Norway! It's all back home. frown

I have three XP computers in addition to this laptop, but I really think I need to buy a copy of XP soon, before it's impossible. In fact, maybe this weekend I'll start my search.

Fortunately I'm still having great success playing KOTOR 1 on Vista. See, I got sidetracked,as usual. lol I need to copy that file over into KOTOR 2 and see if it works. Then I can try the download.
