This is a terrific game, especially for fans of the original TV series. In the one hour trial, I've not yet finished case 1 of 5. The voice actors are not the original, but sound close enough and do a good job. Like the TV series, it's a pleasant game, with very good background themes and ambient sounds (fishing pier, for example). Items are appropriate to the scenes and clear. Puzzles seem easy thus far and there is some need to use discovered objects to interact with a scene. All in all, a very well done and enjoyable game with, I would think, at least 4 to 5 hours of solid play time. This will easily be a $20 game on the store shelves, and it's incredible we can get it for less than $7!

I agree Robertson. It is great for those that want to follow the story, there are cutscenes to fill in the crime details and the cases are interesting. It is more of a straight HOG with a few interactions placed throughout. The voice acting is great.

Finished first case 1 hr 9 minutes. It seemed longer actually, but that's what it wrote.

Not a ad game, everything is good, may be a bit easy, at least so far it is.

I never watched the television program, but I am enjoying the game very much. It's a great "kick back and relax" kind of game. thumbsup

Great game... bravo I love it. Different mini games. The game is not terribly difficult but largely entertaining as well as fun to do.

I especially like the different type of list of objects to find... you have to put the vowels in by finding her typewriter keys.

A winner in my book.

I love this game! The only problem is I have an 8 yr old here who loves it too and took over my computer this morning LOL

Another great game on BF!! Great graphics, good stories, timed or relaxed mode, fun puzzles, I love the old typewriter...don't forget to find the ribbon cartridge in every scene, gives an extra hint if needed.

Enjoy! happydance

I think I've come to a glitch. I did the sort the jewelry puzzle in the first case and I can't move along in the game. It says, items left is one, sort the jewelry. But I did that. And I can't click on hint. sad

My experience with sorting that jewelry was somewhat weird. I had the pieces arranged according to the descriptions, I thought, but nothing happened. I assumed I did it wrong so I changed a couple of pieces around even though it seemed to me that they didn't fit, but maybe I just didn't understand the description correctly. Anyway, I barely got the pieces in place when the game took off and, I guess, the puzzle was solved even though it looked wrong to me. I wasn't going to argue though. I was just too happy to finally finish and get going again.

MANY people are reporting this glitch in the game, TLC, and not just with that puzzle but with other puzzles in the game as well. It seems to be more likely to occur if you save the puzzle for last while in any given screen; so, when doable, don't save it for last. Restarting the case and replaying seems to get people past this glitch.

I didn't experience this problem, but in case five, whereas everything had worked perfectly up to that point with NO glitches whatsoever, the last two scenes where you listened to a summation of the plot and the whodunnit were so jerky, and the voices so choppy, that I had to use the "skip" option to get through them.

Otherwise, it was a very nice game, but with a few kinks that players may or may not run across in the course of playing the game.

TLC, I'm sorry you're having that problem.
I switched the jewelry around so much that I was just so happy to finally get it solved that I yelled "finally" LOL. I'm only into Book 2 now and hoping to get back to the game by tonight.

So, I guess I'll be prepared for any bumps in the road now. After what I'm reading here....good to know. eek

I was just coming back to say it is a delightful game, not too difficult and I like the way the items move when you return to the scenes.

A few glitchy areas are sensitive but doable.

I just finished the jewelry puzzle and it was tricky.

I like this one a lot. It's very easy so I'm taking my time and enjoying the dialogue and plot of each case. It's a real change of pace from my usual favorites.

On sorting items by their descriptions: Be aware that the items can fall into several different categories, but only one arrangement meets all the requirements. If an object meets the requirements for one box, it will light up but that doesn't mean it's the correct one - it might need to go into another box that also meets the requirements to make room for a different item. Hmmm, I think I just confused myself trying to explain that. Oh well, it's a logic type puzzle. Took me awhile to get the jewelry just right, but now that I've got the hang of it and the next ones went much quicker.

I am really enjoying this game but think that I had a glitch in one of the puzzles, too. Mine came in the last book when I was supposed to put together the two drama masks(comedy and tragedy). The pieces are supposed to stick and turn a different color if put together correctly. I KNOW that I did it correctly because all of the pieces fit like they should have but only part of the mask changed color and the scene didn't change. When I tried to use a hint, the picture that was shown me looked just like the masks I had put together.I finally gave up and just used the skip puzzle button so that I could advance.

I've been taking my time with this game and enjoying the stories along with the game play. I'm just towards the end of Book 3. There are a few puzzles that keep you going LOL.

Hi, everyone!

I'm on the first book and just finished sorting the jewelry in the pub. The jewelry disappeared from the table, but the scene doesn't change, "Items Left" still shows as "1" and "Sort the Jewelry" still remains on the list.

Is there another step that I'm missing?

Thanks!

Susan

Hi Susan

This is a glitch in the game that some of us experience and some do not.

Unfortunatley the only way I know of around it is to restart the Book.

Tammy64, There are a few similar puzzles. Once I finally got them completed....... didn't know what I did right but was just glad to get it done LOL. I love the game.

Hi, BellaRosa!

Thanks for your response. So, in other words, I'll have to start the game over again because I don't think the saves are incremental.

I didn't even know this thread existed because I only started downloading and playing casual games a couple of weeks ago, but I've just read it through and I'll make a point of trying to solve the puzzles before the very end of each round.

Susan

Edited to add that I started over again and managed to get past sorting the jewelry. The only thing I did differently was not click on the "Hint" button, so maybe that's what causes the glitch. Since it's the only puzzle in that scene, leaving it to last wouldn't be the problem.

Anyone else experiencing a glitch with the cut scenes? I just completed the first "book" and experienced this glitch at the beginning of the story and at the end. Both the audio and the video break-up. Doesn't really effect the game play. Just a bit annoying. BTW, downloaded from Big Fish if that's a factor. Thanks.

I experienced audio and video break-up in case five. Others have reported this as well, sometimes in case one.
