Hi,

I have actually installed Windows7...it did the work but now when I am trying to install DX and Flash Player, games that need these, say they aren't there. I have found the folders and they are empty. I have 64 bit. Can anyone help me, please? Thank you.

Which games are you talking about?
Are they games you play online through your web browser?

No, I was just fooling around and installed two basic games, one was the Turtle Odyssey game which informed me I had no DX and the other was The Lost City of Z which won't run the video parts without Flash Player.

Have you tried running them in compatibility mode set to XP SP2?

Okay, I just tried this and got the following: "The program needs video hardware supported DirectX 8.0 or higher version."

Remember, since Flash is only 32-bit and will not install in IE 64, you will have to use the 32-bit version of IE. The "Program Files" folder has the 64-bit version and "Program Files (x86)" has the 32-bit version.

I have no idea of what to do. If anyone can steer me a little more in the right direction I would appreciate it greatly. I may not be back on for a couple of days as we are expecting a bad storm with expected wind gusts of ninety five MPH. I usually cower under a piece of furniture with the dogs. Thank you. I will check back on Tuesday God willing.

If you are playing browser-based versions of the games, try running them in the 32-bit version of IE that you'll find in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

You should be able to install Flash in that version of IE.

If these are Flash-based games that aren't associated with a web browser, you may have to wait until someone makes a 64-bit version of Flash.

Thank you, Jenny. I guess i will wait for the Flash. But I still don't understand why I am having a similar problem installing DirectX. It did work on my Vista 64bit. I am reading in different forums that others have experienced this but have seen no solutions as of yet. Thanks so much for your input.
