My netbook doesn't have a right alt key, but anyway I pressed the left alt + enter and I got back to the normal Win 98SE desktop but now the guest OS is locked up, it's in full screen mode so how can I do an "action > ctl + alt + delete" to reset it?
EDIT - I tried pressing Fn + alt + F4 to exit full screen mode and go back to windowed mode but then although "action" at the top of the console windows is active, the "ctl + alt + del" is grayed out. (my netbook's function keys won't work unless I press the Fn key at the same time I press a function key) After I pressed Fn + alt + F4, a dialog box came up asking if I wanted to save or cancel; clicking cancel makes it go back to full screen mode, locked up. clicking save saves it but then closes the VM in a saved state but then when I click Start to open the VM it goes back to full screen mode.
EDIT 2 - I struggled with it for a while, got the little dialog box where you can click "end task" - Task master? on my host netbook up, highlighted VM win 98SE, clicked "end task" then I clicked another tab (don't recall what it was) but do recall that I clicked Shut down. The host netbook shut down, I pressed the power button to restart it, then clicked on VPC, and restarted the guest. The guest did its "not shut down properly" scan disk (Yay - anything to get out of it being locked up!) and then it started up normally, and it's back in it's good old normal working order - I went to the Win 98 Start > shut down; it shut down normally. I restarted it, the guest was still in its good old normal working order, so I went back to its Start > shut down, it shut down normally.
Soooo - it looks like I finally fixed it.
