Hi,

This week I bought my first online games from BFG. It has been a good experience, so far. I also have found (and am pleasantly surprised)that I love Casual Games. I am trying the trial membership to see if I want to do this or just buy them without paying for the membership. I have a couiple of questions from those of you who have been using BFG for awhile.

1) I like to remove games from my computer after I play them. BFG says that once we buy the games they are ours and we can play them again. Since I don't have a game disc, I think that I can just access my password to get to the games I have purchased. Can I download the game again to a different computer or does it just have to be put back on the PC I originally used?

2) We get credits for each game that we purchase and can then get a free game with the credits. Does this apply only if we have the monthly membership or do we still get credits if we buy games without a membership?

3). If I decide that I don't want to continue with the membership, can I still access the games that I have purchased?

4). Also, I have spotted a game that I want to download but it doesn't appear to be on BFG. Are the downloads from Amazon safe to use? I read the thread about another game site that embeds things with their downloads and I don't want that.

Thanks!

Hey...

Well to answer your first question...your games are stored on BF under your Account, where you will find Purchased Games so you do not have to save the games on your computer. You may download to a different computer.

2 - don't really understand question 2 so I'll let someone else answer that one.

3. You may still access your games.

4. That is for Ana to say, she is the one I trust to say if a site is safe or not.

Well that is a start for you.

Hi, gatsbygirl!

I think I can answer your second question. So far, I've downloaded and played 3 games from BFG. I didn't take out a monthly membership but received an email from them saying that if purchase 3 more games before the end of November, I get 1 for free. I downloaded a 4th game (Big City Adventure - New York) and am enjoying it immensely, so I've got 2 more to go before I can enjoy my freebie.

Some of these games last longer than the regular adventure games and, for $6.99, you sure can't beat the price!

I'm pretty sure that you can still access the games you've purchased, even if you cancel your membership. As long as you have a User ID and password, they should still be available.

Gatsbygirl, as Jody said, your games are always yours and can be download to your current computer.

#2. I think you are talking about the November promotion? If so, the only criteria is to purchase the required number of games by the end of the month.

#3. Yes,your games are always your games even if you discontinue the monthly membership, and your credits are always good.

#4. I don't know--I only download from BFG luck But I would read any privacy statements carefully and thoroughly.

Gatsbygirl,

1. Yes it can be downloaded to another computer but it has to be one of your computers. If you have a child or husband living with you, they may download also and play. It is not designed for reactivation on multiple IP addresses for eg. giving your key to a friend etc.

2. You agree to buy a credit a month till you cancel. The credit will automatically be charged monthly and added to your account. If you buy a game it will use one of your credits if you have have one available otherwise you will buy one additional.
You do not earn free credits for purchasing games other than a special promotion such as the Novemberfest.

4. Amazon does not really doesn't state much on their website in terms of a separate privacy statement for the download vs. the regular shopping area. It does not seem overly invasive.
Please keep one thing in mind and that is they will not reimburse you for any game if it does not work.

Sorry that I was too casual about my answer of downloading to another computer. I should have included the caveat of YOUR other computer(s).

I like BF for the very reasons stated by the experts here at GB. I find them very fair on returns and help and no tracing that I have ever found. I also like Gameboomers for the same reasons...they are smart, savvy, and honest to a fault.

Thanks for the great responses. I thinlk that I have a better feel for BFG, now. As far as downloading goes, if I am visitng a freiend (Out of town) and want to show her the game and also reply it, is that okay? I didb't understand the response that said that I can download to a family member etc. This souds like I must use the same computer for the download. What if I replace my computter or buy a Lap Top?

I believe BFG are very large, when it comes to downloading to another PC (IP).
I have downloaded 1 or 2 games to my mothers PC, which is not in my house - and there was no trouble with it. smile

Didn't I read somwhere, that they do allow up to 4-6 different PC's(think they mean different hardware like Mobo, graphic..etc.) in case of crashes, before anything happens.

1) You have a "My Account" tab at bigfishgames.com. It has your entire purchase history so you can redownload and reactivate any game you have purchased at any time, as many times as you need to.

You are buying a lifetime license for the game. That license covers you, anyone in your immediate household and any PC or Mac in your household.

You can redownload and reactivate the game as many times as you like and install it on as many machines as you want as long as you adhere to the "household" paragraph above.

2) Two issues here:
Game Club - Game Club is $6.99 per month for a bunch of benefits and includes one "Game Club Credit" that can be redeemed for any game. You can always buy additional games for $6.99 whether you are a member or not.

Novemberfest - This is a promotion where if you buy 6 games in November you get a bonus Game Club Credit for a free game. If you buy 3 additional games, you get a second Credit for another free game. The term "Buy" applies to any coupon, any price point, any game on our site.

3) The club does not affect your ownership, it affects your ability to access the other benefits (see site for list of benefits). Once you buy a game, it is yours for life.

4) Chances are BFG will get it. wink There are only really two developers out of over 600 that we work with whose games we do not offer.

Hope that helps.

I agree - thank you BFG-Guy for stepping up to the "mike".

It is always nice to see it all in print!

BFG-Guy,

Thanks for the clarification. I have really enjoyed the two games I downloaded from BFG this week. I can see why everyone raves about BFG. Love the fact that we can see videos of the games and also play them free for 1 hour before we buy. Great selling point!
