How have they been accepted by die-hard Monkey Island fans?

All of Telltale's series have had disc versions after the downloads are complete. If you bought the whole "season" of downloadable episodes, you can buy these disc versions for the cost of shipping.

For how well the games have been accepted by the critics, you can consult reviews at gamerankings.com and metacritic.com. My own assessment so far is that the games are near the original games in quality, though it's hard to say for sure since the final episode hasn't released yet. The episodic format does make the games feel a bit more, well, fractured because we're taking them in gulps with a wait in between. On the other hand, it's fun to look forward to the next one.

For acceptance by the fans -- you can always read the Tales of Monkey Island forum.

Are these full length games?

Each episode is a few hours of gameplay. It varies per episode, and how fast you happen to play. Altogether, the episodes add up to a full game length, plus, I'd say.

Anyone else who wants to chime in with impressions, opinions, please do so.

What is the Free {+shipping cost} DVD going to consist of?

I don't believe the developers have stated yet what's going to be on the DVD. There are usually some extras, but what they will be has yet to be announced, as far as I know.

The episodes are each pretty long and altogether satisfying. I haven't done the last episode yet, but when you add it all up it's actually a very long game. Not that you'd be interested, katbear, but they've introduced a new game babe, Morgan LeFlay, who has attracted a lot of my attention.
Also, my favorite character, Murray, returns. I like him because he reminds me of me.

Yes, the DVD does include all the episodes that make up the "season" or "complete pack" or whatever you want to call it.

EDIT: My search for the W&G DVD features turned up this interesting news -- December 8th looks like a good day for Monkey Island fans. I expect we'll be getting an official announcement with new screenshots soon.
