I'm having great difficulty to the point of frustration with the Music Box puzzle in the mansion, and although I've googled for a Celtica saved game, I came up empty-handed. So if anyone has a save for after the music box puzzle has been solved, I'd greately appreciate it.

I don't know if this is the right forum (it slipped my mind) in which to ask for a saved game - so if not, please move this thread to the appropriate forum, please?

I have 5 saved game files that I sent to you. I don't what they are for.
You can check to see if one of them is anywhere near that puzzle.
Although, I vaguely remember that I did saved that puzzle. luck Keep us posted.

Thanks for moving this thread to the appropriate forum, MaG - I was stumped until I saw where you moved this thread. I'm getting older (and forgetful) I guess?

OK - i got the saves d/l, and onto my win 98SE guest OS...how exactly do I get the saves (to try each one to see if its after the music box puzzle solve) into Celtica?

I can't remember where the saved game files are located but usually in older games, they are found in the game folder.
So open the Celtica folder.
Check if there are files there that are labeled similarly to what I sent.
Make a new folder. Place all your old/existing saved game files in that new folder. This is in case you'd want to use them again.
Then download the ones I sent and place them (as replacement) where you took your olde ones out.
Now - play and load the game. Check all those saved game and see. luck

It looks like "game3.sav" is the one with the music box puzzle solved, MaG - I loaded it and it looks like all the other puzzles were solved all the way up to the Stonehenge model and the purple light - since I was just asking for a saved solve for the music box puzzle only and hoping that all puzzles following this were not solved yet (as I was hoping to have fun solving the puzzles following the music box puzzle using your w/t), is it possible for me to email you my save for the music box puzzle (still unsolved) so you can solve it for me and email it back? I'd greatly appreciate this.

And one other thing - (after loading your "game3.sav" & going to purple light) why does the game end with "the search has ended" message and credits roll by - I thought it was supposed to ask for CD 2 (which it doesn't)?

I had all 5 of your saved games in my Celtica folder after moving mine into a separate folder on my host PC.

Sorry. I don't have the game anymore.
Remove the rest of the saved games and leave the ones that you have played.
Then play-load from music box and continue on. Keep us posted.

I got rid of your other 4 saves in my Celtica folder, MaG, loaded the "game3.sav", tried the piano puzzle (next item following music box puzzle in your w/t) but it was already solved. What's more, in my inventory there's 3 organ rolls, a candle, Barnedette's diary key, and the amulet.

- You might need to check other saves. That might not be the right saved game.
- If you think my saves won't work for you (it should follow the walkthrough), please take them off and place your old saves back and maybe try to solve the music box.
- Or wait if someone else has a saved game for you.

MaG, Jenny100 PM'ed me and told me that she would offer to solve the music box puzzle for me - she did, and she emailed me the saved solve the other day. From there I took the piano key from the pocket and I did the piano puzzle - splendid!

Has been repeatedly doing and redoing the Mixer puzzle following the prism puzzle as per MaGtRo's w/t but somehow it didn't seem to work - I mean no drawer opened with the key in it - is this supposed to happen?

Thank you so much for your help with these solves, Jenny - without your solves I'd never, ever, ever be able finish this game.

Jenny, may I ask when I loaded your solve for the prism puzzle and approached the prism puzzle in close up to check if the beam of light was shining forth, why didn't I see the beam of light being reflected from the prisms and into the hole in the mound?

I'd have to check, but it may only shine the beam in an obvious matter immediately after you solve the puzzle. It may not stay all shiny bright. I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

Are you able to progress in the game after you load from the save I sent?

The technique used is stated:
The speed of the flask that I tried to match for all 3 flask is one speed above the slowest swirl - the initial speed of the left flask.
The rotation that I matched to all 3 flasks is clockwise rotation.

See if you can try that technique on:
Leave left flask alone and use it for comparison. Middle flask - turn the arrow to have the c tube above the middle flask and click once on the middle button at top bar.
Right flask - Place the a tube above the right flask and click the right button at top bar 3xs. They should all be same speed and rotation.

Maybe finesse the technique. Watch the speed.

Oh, pardon me, MaG - may I reply that I was following your w/t faithfully as I did your technique several times but it didn't work, please?
