Sherryah, Billy is a one man show vs. the millions in funding and staff that the BigFish Developement has.

No point in making comparisons of course.

But the best hint system ever, and by far, AFAIK is not at all in the huge budget Developers' domain.
But in the last 2 Carol Reed Mysteries made by Mikael Nyqvist who also works alone and on a shoestring budget--- with 2 others helping to a lesser degree... one even being completely volunteer.

Walkthrough.

Yes; the demo is short. The walkthrough is short also - but it's completely full and detailed.

Demo walkthrough released :-

So glad to hear we will have a new one from Mr Fisher!!! The time will pass so slow until it is done! smile His games just keep getting better and better and i am pretty sure he'll make an 'adjustment' to the voice problem you have mentioned!..That is what is good about releasing a demo AND allowing feedback! AND paying attention to it...i know he pays attention because if you need to email him you get a response back asap! (pay attention Frogwares and others)..

This demo is certainly very different from previos LHOD games, and I'm curious now about how the final game will be. The character reminds me of the main character in "Deus Ex" because of his dark glasses andthe long black coat and especially his deep voice.

I have to agree with several other people about the demo being short, very short I'd say. I didn't need a walkthrough because the little there was to do was so easy.

imho, the short demo was not **so** easy to do but yes - pretty easy.
And so the short walkthrough is not very necessary.

There is only one stand alone puzzle in the demo which is solved in the walkthrough although also fairly easy to solve.

I'm disappointed in it being 3rd person, but I'll give the demo a try. I wonder why the change to 3rd?
For example, I did enjoy Lost Souls, but much prefered the first person perspective of the Dark Fall games.

Thanks everyone for taking a look!

Yes, it is a rather short demo... Just enough to give the player a taste of the new third-person style (and trying to keep the demo size around 200mb so downloading doesn't take too long)

Why third-person? Just wanted to try something different - After listening to customers I am getting some feedback that more people prefer third person perspective - So I thought I would give it a try.

I guess I need to do a little more work on the voices huh? Any other suggestions or comments welcomed.

Thanks
Bill

Hi, billy

I love the third person ...due to motion sickness....

As far as the voices I think they are just fine :happydance12:...

I truly love this game....It might be a draw between "Spirts Eye" :lol12:

I too much prefer 3rd person in general - of course there are some noteable exceptions.
I find that I am not more immersed in 1st person games and if anything generally just the opposite.

I do not suffer from any motion sickness.
But I think the reason is that in 1st person games I am continuously getting frustrated with navigation - all that east, west, north, south, 3 steps here then turn, 2 steps there, 4 steps to the right, forward, back, etc.

harhan3 ...
I agree with you....

The east west north south..Tends to get me confused :lol12:

Ok....I have played at least 15 minutes ,and uninstalled...

I don't want to ruin my game play on the full version...Because I will definitely will be buying the full version....

All I need is 15 minutes into a demo , and I will know right off the bat if this is the game for me.....

Billy, everything about the demo left me wanting more. The girl is totally lovely and the protagonist sounds suitably hard-bitten (gravelly voice and all) and cynical! The puzzles were just a taster that whets the appetite - bring it on!
